BMI have a re-think....

I have just heard that BMI have realised their own stupidity, and will continue to allow BD Ag and AU members access to the lounges regardless of fare paid.

Hopefully there should be an official confirmation release soon.

Thanks,
Richard

Methinks this may be too little too late. Having now tried the 'dark side', BA just seem like a better option for Euro flights.

I take it you still won't be able to earn miles on those cheap flights?; and their Tiny fares aren't always that "Tiny", so all things being kind-of-equal, BA have the edge.

On my way to Barcelona, because of the ongoing catering dispute, they gave me a 5 quid voucher at check in. That bought me a very nice sandwich, lemon cake and flavoured water from Pret; and it's probably one of the best in-flight meals I've had on a Euro flight in about 10 years. The BA seats also just seemed more comfortable. As long as Willie Walsh doesn't do an Aer Lingus job on BA, I think I'll stick with them for the time being.

Ooh Pete flying BA..... you'll be changing your avatar rather quickly when marketing hears about this.... :)

I do agree though, I think it may be too late in the day. The damage is done, just look at the dissarray over on the BD forum at FT. And there are some real frequent customers there. The change is just the lounge access, all the other TINY changes remain.

Thanks,
Richard

I noticed VS have amended the earning table on their website:

bmi tiny fares in S, B, K, M, H, Q, V, G, O, W, T, N and E classes are accruable flights until 31 December 2005. From 01 January 2006, bmi tiny fares cease to attract any Flying Club miles.

T,N and E are non-accruable in DC since August but looks like still accruable in FC.

Definitely not going to fly the CDG route again. Had enough of bmi and their stupid antics. Eurostar is running a very tempting 2 for 1 offer in conjunction with The Daily Telegraph from this Saturday.
