I just registered this ok, luckily I'm in Paris and fly CDG to EMA on Thursday on a business class (D) ticket :D Weird thing is I've been flying loads with them so I think its just a standard offer (maybe Gold only?)

Strange that - I haven't flown with them since they comped me Gold, and didn't get the email. Still, I did get the Nigel Turner letter...

Cheers

Silver, two identical emails, no letter from Nige. Last flew bmi last year I think.

I currently do not know where my DC card is and neither do I care!

Likewise, I have a comped BMI gold card. It does get them some
business though as I will n ow use BMI in preference to BA (or
anyone else) for European flights on business as I can use the
lounges.

It's also incredible useful travelling found the Far East as there
are quite a number of Star Alliance carriers there and it gets
me into the lounges and bumps me up the upgrade list.

How did you guys get comped to gold? Was it a status match, or a one-time offer?

Originally got silver through the *A Status Match program, then at the beginning of this year there was another BMI Status Match - since I'd turned VS Gold, got moved up to Gold with them too :)

Cheers

Darn.. need to keep plugging away at VS flights then...

I don't use BMI very much, but at a few of the UK regionals [including LHR T1], access to the DC lounge would be quite useful.
