And I was annoyed with the little red pillows...

Note - any VS lurkers : This is NOT an endorsement, this is a BAD idea, repeat, BAD.

Still - it seems some carriers are taking things to the extreme now, including my favourite one... [ii]

Air Canada are starting to charge $2 to have a pillow in-flight. (There's still some confusion, but they apparently remain free in J for now... [:?])

Completely agree on the Red Pillow issue ... and the bar flowers!!

Charging for a pillow in flight? That has got to be near top of the stupidity list on suggestions from the bean counters! [V]

I think I'd pack the pillow into my bag and take it with me if I was paying for the thing. Then you can have a free one next time [}:)]

I always throw the pillows into the overhead locker, and they stay there. Particularly in Y this gives you a bit more room (yes extra room is that much of a premium for me in Y!). I have to say I think a lot of people do the same, or bring their own inflatable neck cushion.

So if the airline can save a few bucks per pax by dispensing with an item that many of them don't need, or asking them to pay for it if they do, is that really so much of a problem?

Just an alternative POV.....
