Shopping at Heathrow

Just curious to know a few things about duty-free shopping at Heathrow:

1. Is there any way to get items from stores that are not in Terminal 3?

2. What are your favorite stores at T3 in terms of good service and selection?

Thanks!

I always think that dixons is great because you can pre-order what you want and then pick it up at duty-free prices!:D

Heathrow does offer a Personal Shopper service, so if there's something you really want, and it's not in T3, your Personal Shopper will locate it and escort you to and from the store in the other terminal.

Though when I've looked before, it's still been cheaper to buy on the net cheaper.

Like Pete says, I think this is only possible using the Personal Shopper service (seen it done before on Airport)...

Couldn't help you with that one I'm afraid - rarely shop there (and what I usually buy is covered by Retail Therapy - pre-order & earn miles :D:D). IMHO, VAT-free (i.e. a discount of 17.5% on high-street prices) doesn't really cover the hassle of shopping in big crowds, or the difference between what you can actually buy the products for either at your destination or over the 'net when at home...:)

I have to agree with Michael on this, I have never been impressed with LHR duty free. In my last dozen trips to the airport my purchases have been limited to mag and sweets.[:I]

I am not a smoker, and cigarettes seem to be the only bargains.

Nick Jnr keep on at me to buy a ticket in the raffle for the car though. [:o)];)

Absolutely, but with VS they're cheaper through RT ;)

Of course, the best bargains are when you can buy 5 cartons & upwards - though that's not a very good idea when travelling to the US (where your allowance is.....1 carton). For me shopping for those in the US will do nicely thankyouverymuch :D
