Just went onto southwest.com to book a flight, but was redirected to this page.

Either I missed something, or nobody else noticed an accident at Midway (Chicago) on Thursday involving flight 1248...?

98 onboard, 13 taken to hospital, but doesn't appear to be any onboard fatalities. Aircraft veered off the runway, however, and a child was one of the people it hit and killed.

It got a lot of coverage on CNN, plane landed in the snow and skidded.

At time of writing, it is still there on the road, and the PAX luggage is still on it. [:0]

Will be overtaken in the news by a crash in Nigeria, methinks. [:#]

Yeah, basically the plane landed during white out conditions and the small runways and lack of barriers allowed the Southwest 737 to plow right off the runway and into the street, pinning several cars under it. That was how the boy died. So far though that is the only death.
