Has anyone else seen the TV commercial in which First Choice now claim more legroom than BA in Economy ?
It revolves around First Choice removing seats in their Economy section.
Seen on ITV1 this evening.
See here for the offer :

Yup - they also have rather large posters up in the travel shops, too...
Interesting that they chose not to compare against VS [?}
The comparison chart is: BA, MyTravel, Thomas Cook, ThompsonFly

Thats strange as most of VS Y cabin is 31 inch seat pitch
Also just noticed that in premier they offer a Air therapist...when did this happen???

I would assume they have done their research and are more likely to poach customers from BA due to their destinations or something?

That sounds the most likely reason, I agree.
Maybe also it is because of (or so I understand) increased pitch in Y on the re-fitted VS A343's and soon the A346's?
Do we know what the seat pitch is being increased to?

It is very odd seeing as FCA's new legroom is larger than VS Y legroom. FCA are giving VS a real run for thier money with there new cabins- undoubtedly they have got people at VS worrying- it has often been discused how the Y class has been the forgotten class at VS in the last 6 years or so- especially when you consider how much VS did originally to change Y--PTVS thru out etc.
FCA do have a friendly relationship with VS tho- if you dont want to fly FCA to ANU for example they put you on VS- maybe this relationship has something to do with it?
Fair play to FCA- they have done really well.

I remember reading about this a while ago - the Air Therapist is also Dermalogica Trained using their products, which is quite fantastic to see!
The Star Class Premier service is fantastic, and i assume fairly unique in the charter / package market. Not looked at pricing at all, but I would assume it is similar to or slightly cheaper then PE.
If it wasn't for the miles and TP's I would consider using them over VS if I was flying PE.

Wow - fair play ot First Choice for trying to be innovative in the charter market! [^]
Clearly more and more people ARE willing to pay for extra legroom and other frills (I notice from the trip reports that many of the VS planes are full in J and W but not Y)
Wish VS would take a look at their Y cabins [:w]

On the advert, they said that 54 seats were being removed from their aircraft - is this in total or per one? They make it sound like it's for every plane, which if incorrect is quite decieving.[:(!]

No I would believe its on each plane- remember that FCA use to cram the seats in on a 763- They had 4 in the middle on the 763 instead of 3- so they have taken out 1 seat per row.

Yeah, I saw the advert again and they actually said from each plane. I guess they're going to have to raise the price by quite a bit!
BTW, 4 in the middle - WOW[xx(]!

i travelled with FCA in october to TFS and although only on A320 legroom was more than adequate and would gradly travel with them again. we were going to fly with them to barbados in april however have chosen VS instead.
