Found ourselves on Tinker Belle (G-VBIG) for the return leg which left on time and arrived 30 Mins or so early at LHR.

In contrast to previous experience the online check in and seat allocation worked perfectly and the entire group ended up co-located on the aircraft.

On this occasion the V-PORT worked as advertised and kept everyone fully entertained for the entire trip. Only one slight criticism with regard to this is the fact that it is not fully powered up into on-demand mode until about 60 Mins into the flight and always after being force fed Sky News for 25 Mins or so. Why can't this just be offered as a channel option like everything else Thus allowing the system to be put into on-demand mode earlier.

Arrival at Heathrow was uneventful with the young FO who was handling pilot perfoming an absoloute greaser on 27L before taxying off to a remote stand. A nice end to a pleasant trip.

Cheers for the report.

Did you notice anyone nearby ordering unusual drinks? [:)]

Thanks for the TR. Your comments about Sky News are shared by many a previous poster.

I seem to recall comments recently that the 'on demand' service started straight away on some east bound trips.

Thanks for the TR pencisely.

Know what you mean about the IFE - this is pet hate of mine too. I'd like skymap switched on for takeoff, and V:Port booted up asap afterwards.

Skymap should also be left on for landing!

Rich.
