This is my first trip report so here goes.
We had checked in on line earlier on the Wednesday and had originally chosen 74H and K. Got to LGW about 7pm to drop off the bags and Twilight Check In was deserted, about 5 desks open and manned and only a couple of them being used so went to one of the empty ones. Without us asking, the agent offered us the exit row seats (75H and K) which we gladly took[y]. She also put Fast Track Immigration stickers on our boarding passes[:D] and warned us that it would be advisable to get to immigration as early as possible the next day as the queues had been pretty long recently.[n]
We got to LGW about 7am the next day but didn't need to use the Fast Track as it was pretty quiet although the queue at VS check-in was pretty long, definately worth using the Twilight Check In.
Priority boarding worked well and we departed near enough on time, due to Atlantic storms we were told we would be taking the long way round a to prepare for a 10+ hour flight. Only small problem with upstairs was the reduced overhead storage and the side bins will not accommodate a full size carry on bag. Cabin crew were very happy to stow a number of them elsewhere for passengers though.
Food was OK but the menu cards handed out prior did not match the food being offered....oops[:w]. Cabin crew were very apologetic. It's nice to get proper crockery and cutlery.
Unfortunately the IFE screen in 75H did not work[n], it was reset a couple of times but could not get a picture at all (sound worked though). The crew apologised and offered us 50 to spend on duty free or alternatively FC miles by way of compensation[:D][y][:D]. We were happy to accept the duty free offer, it's nice to have someone make an offer without us making a huge fuss or complaint - these problems happen occasionally. We also were given an adapter plug so we could at least watch the same film and share a screen.
On arrival in Havana after over 10 hours the immigration queues were pretty long and then you have to queue to get you and your hand baggage scanned. Baggage reclaim was fairly chaotic but we were soon able to get our cases and were off for a very enjiyable time in Cuba.
