Hello all, this is my first TR so please be gentle [:)]

So, I left work early on the Monday, to get home for the Limo driver to pick us up.

He arrived spot on time, and the transfer to the airport was a delight, nice chatty driver too. He dropped us off at the drive-thru checkin, all the staff there were so helpful and it was so nice not having to drag the bags around the airport, just said goodbye to them. The checkin staff handed us all the paper work for the flights and asked if we knew were the lounge was, as this was our first time in UC, he informed us where to go, and wished us a very pleasent journey.

So, off to the Clubhouse, well what can I say, after reading about the Clubhouse on here for so many months, and getting very excited, it was probably better than I imagined. We were greeted by a very friendly lady, who explained everything about the Clubhouse. We went and sat down in one of the many different chairs, and no sooner as we had plonked ourselves down, someone was there asking if we needed anything. 'Yes please, can I have a Manhatten cocktail?' [:D]
The experience was only marred, by a cock up for my treatment. I was looking forward to a massage and shave treatment, but they didn't have my name on the list. [:(] Oh well, I wasn't going to let that spoil my time in the Clubhouse. I went had the Infamous Clubhouse Burger [:D][:p], boy, it was very tasty.

Then it was off to the flight. Priority boarding was in place and got on the aircraft immediatley, turned left [:)] and found our seats. I was in 5K. The FSM came around and showed us the functions of the seat and told us all about UC. She could see that both of us were excited and she was very humourous.
We pushed back about 15 minutes late. Then we were off. As this leg was overnight, they came around pretty quickly for dinner selection. The dinner selection was not 'Best of British' - I had 7 spiced chicken. I can't remember what dessert I had (It was over a month ago [:I]) After dinner we decided (like most of the other passengers) to go to sleep. I asked a CC member to show me how to convert the seat into a bed, that's when the trouble started. The seat wouldn't convert, it kept getting jammed on something. After much scratching of heads, they just forced it into the bed. I probably had a good 5 hours sleep. I found the bed very comfortable and kept smiling to myself and thinking 'I am sleeping on an aircraft' [:)]

When I woke up, I went to convert the bed back, so I could have breakfast. I wouldn't convert back, it would only go as far as 45 degrees. I was told that I could have breakfast at the bar, which didn't bother me to much. As I was being served breakfast at the bar the seat belt sign came on, as we had some turbulance. I asked what I should do, as I couldn't return to my seat, the CC said that it wouldn't be a problem and that I could stay put. That was until the FSM saw me there, she was happy at all that a passenger was allowed to sit there through turbulance. I felt a bit put out, as they had a bit of a discussion as to why I was there. I said that I couldn't sit in my seat as it was broken. Luckly the turbulance was short lived. She was most upset that my seat was broken and said that they would look at it immediatley. When I returned to my seat, I saw the most funny site ever. There she was hanging ovet the top of the seat, trying to get it back correctly, then she was on the floor with her hands underneath trying to see what the problem was. Basically 2 of them forced the seat back in place, but had to switch the power off to my suite for the remainder of the flight (which was only about an hour). She informed me that the seat would be fixed at HKG, as she could see that I was flying through to SYD.

Anyway, landed at HKG and went to the lounge, had a shower and a drink, then back on the aircraft.

Then good engineers had fixed the seat and was working perfectly again.

Remainder of the flight was brilliant, can't believe how hard the CC work throughout the flight. Always had a cheery smile and always had time to chat.

I had a treatment from the IFBT, she was just brilliant and so funny, made me laugh lots.

The entertainment system was brilliant too, although didn't use it too much as I slept lots.

I hope I haven't bored you too much with this TR, as I will be doing another soon for the return leg.

Excellent TR Mark and no need to be gentle with you as it was bob-on!

I agree with you about the whole UC service - those of us who do not fly it all the time just love the whole thing and unlike the regular UC users we dont see any great change in service for better or worse!!

Cool that they fixed the seat too - would have abeen a bit of a pain to have to put up with that all the way to SYD

I think (if I can manage it) it will only be a left turn, at least on VS.
