We stayed overnight at the Hilton at gatwick, we done the twilight check in, where the check in staff was very helpful i must say.
Had a comfy night at the Hilton....
then it was off to the fast track security, that took 10 mins or so, then clubhouse bound we was..!
The staff was more than helpful, serving us our very edible breakfast..sausage sandwich was my choice. well recommended..!
then the bellini's started flowing...i know it was 8.00 in the morning but i was on vacation good and proper ![8D]
At 9.00 am i was booked in for my back massage, again that was fantastic...oils..the lot..well recommended too....[y][y][y]
The flight was called a little after i was done, so we made our way to the gate.
at the gate, it was empty, so we was straight on to Ladybird.
Our seats 6A & 6K was awaiting. FSM helped us with the hand luggage, as the first 2 rows have no overhead lockers...sorted !
then i started with my on-board bellini...
FSM run us through the suite options/operations...
before we knew it, we was pushing back...
i can honestly say there are no faults so far....all very professional service and well worth it..!
the flight seem to go by so quickly....bellini's...a very nice lamb meal....hot scones with clotted cream....more bellini's.....on with the QC2's.....sorted..!
then we was down in Orlando....absolutly superb flight from start to finish..cabin crew was the best i had ever experienced..!!!!FANTASTIC..!
Done a week in Orlando doing the disney stuff with the kids...they loved it..( i did too !)
back to the airport for the flight down to Jamaica for the second week...we flew down with Air Jamaica...well what can i say..erm....rubbish..! there 'business class' is like the economy class on VS....but it was only 1 hour 40 mins so i gritted my teeth..!!
Done a week in ocho rios, sunset Jamaica grande resort, it was lovely but i must say i preferred it when it was the renaissiance group..
back to the airport...that was a nice feeling checking in at the upper class desk, when all the other desks were really busy...i found people look as if you are not meant to be there..!!!
after the passport check, we was allocated our pre-assigned seats of 6A & 6K and 7A & 7K for the kids...
You do get lounge access at Jamaica, it is in the Air Jamaica Lovebird Executive Lounge, next to gate 6....its not really anything to comment about to be honest...but it gets you out of all the busy departure terminal...nice blue mountain coffee and some nuts...no food or snacks....
after an hour or so, we wandered down to the gate to see Jersey Girl waiting to take us home....after 10 mins, upper class was called for boarding. we was 1st on. straight to the seats..and we also claimed the locker space above 8A & K,as we was told to do.
Then one of the huffy puffy type boarded and sat in 8A & K..complained that we had used THEIR locker space...
fair play to the FSM..she firmly told them the situation about the space above and rectified the problem on the spot...!
back to my bellini, i was asked what i would like once we was airbourne...i think she knew what i wanted..[:w] !
service was great again, not as attentive as the outbound vs027, but still good.
the down side to this flight home was..
the food.
the pork loin meal was fit for the bin ![:$]
the breakfast was fit for the bin ![:$]
the bacon roll was fit for the bin ![:$][:$]
we what can i say...i was gutted about the homeward bound flight food...
also, the UCS in Jersey Girl was dated and well used, but the concept of the lay flat bed is great though...
the screen was on-off-on-off and i was unable to watch a film or anything..so off to sleep was all i could do...
i have just booked to go back next year in june 08 in UCS and i really hope they us a LHR plane or they sort the V-PORT for us upper's at least..!!!! a lot to ask i know, but.........
