After a whirlwind 2 day business trip in New York (yet somehow I managed to fit some sale shopping in...!) it was back to London. Expecting to see the usual JFK debacle, it was surprisingly quiet. Check in was fast, efficient and friendly; I'd lost my email ticket, but the sales desk printed another one with a smile!

Through check-in and straight across to the Clubhouse - not particularly busy, but the service was not fantastic... Had to approach the bar for service, but as soon as they realised I was there they were great - friendly and generous with the Merlot servings...

Seated on the couches at the rear of the Clubhouse, I noticed te Reserved sign on the doos and asked my companion why anyone would bother to reserve one of the rooms at the back - as if on queue, Daniel Radcliffe walked in!

Flight was called a little later than scheduled due to the late inbound - the gate looked like a mess from a distance but was delighted to see that Priority Boarding was in effect and the pax were all well behaved! Boarding was fast and champagne was awaiting us, however by the time we left the gate we pushed back about 45 mins late we ended up about 20th in the queue...

Once in the air, IFE came on pronto (Life On Mars with dinner... yes please!), dinner and drinks were served quickly to allow everyone to flip the seats asap, and the flight was uneventful. Chose not to be woken for breakfast as the plan was to use Revivals so I didn't wake up until about 30 mins before landing. The only disappointment of the flight was that the CSM was introduced by another crew member and was then totally invisible for the entire flight. I understand that Upper was full, but there really was no sign of them for the whole time. [V] Full marks to the crew though - friendly and professional as ever. [y]

I've got to add that it was a little odd to be standing in the toilet queue behind Harry Potter (he's so small and cute!!)!
We parked at the gate closest to the Clubhouse there (30?) so the trek to customs was almost enjoyable! Pity the non-EU pax though - the line was out the door and halfway along the corridor... No line for me though!

Revival was an oasis of calm and fab service as ever. A work trip just isn't enjoyable without Upper Class! [:D]

Harry Potter flies VS? I'd have thought he would've mastered the art of apparition by now...

Thank you for the TR.

Nice report; thank you.

That little room at the JFK CH nearly always has 'Reserved' sign. But I rarely see anyone in there. You got the big prize obviously, having Harry stroll in. Did you speak with him?

Just curious, but if you were asleep until 30 mins before landing how do you know that the FSM was not seen for the entire flight? [:w]

We used that room on the journey home from the haircut run. Richard asked if there were any VIP's in, to which we were told 'no', so we said 'okay, we'll take that room then'. 'P' brought us a good few bottles of Champagne to consume [:)].

Nice one on spotting Daniel Radcliffe [:D]

Thanks,
Sarah

My companion was unable to sleep and mentioned it after landing. Maybe there was some drama up the back? I'm sure there was a good reason, but it just doesn't look too good.

Just kidding you, RJD.[:D] I totally agree that the 'invisible' FSMs can send the wrong message to passengers. We've talked about this issue at some length here on V-Flyer. Although it's fair to say that sometimes the FSM has made himself or herself noticeable elsewhere on the aircraft, and even if the FSM cannot be seen, a good flight undoubtedly means the FSM was making it happen.

For some comfort: In my last four segments on VS the FSM I actually saw the FSM on only one of the segments; however, all four flights I'd rate as above average in terms of service and comfort.
