This the 2nd half out our first MPM flight back from LAX after a week in Palm Springs. Awesome place if anyone fancies going btw [:D]

Again sorry I didn't get the plane name but it had the new PE but old Econ and was a A340-600. It arrived from LHR about 30 minutes late but we only took off 40 mins yet actually arrived home 30 minutes early so bonus in that respect.

I have flown PE before but only on the LAS route and thought it was excellent. These new PE seats however are another kettle of fish.....they are SUPERB!!!!
[oo]

We were in 20H and 20K. The new purple leather is very very comfy, much wider seats and generally feel great. VPort worked faultlessly and the screens actually tilt more so when the person in front reclines you can see the whole screen unlike in the previous PE seats.

The new meal service was brilliant! I had the roast chicken which was yummy and for Emma who usually has the rubbish gluten free meals they provide, was actually given something edible. It was so good in fact we had to question it was a special meal but it was so full marks to Virgin on this. Astounding!

The only gripe, and its a minor one is that the vport box under the seat limits leg room a tiny bit for the window seat, but its not a lot and didn't bother me at all really.

So 10 / 10 for this.

Now I'm dreading economy return to Orlando in Dec. [:$]

Thanks for the TR's.

Glad your return flight was up to the excellent standard VS should be offering. Can't say I really liked the new PE seat on my first try but seems to be getting great feedback, as does the whole new PE package, something VS seem to have got right.

I'm glad to read that this seemed to have been a better trip all around then your outbound flight!

What a contrast to the outbound sector[y][y]

glad to hear the new PE seats went down well with you - I have only sat in them in an exhibition environment, so it is good to have it confirmed that they offer space and comfort.

Mrs Buns & I also thoroughly enjoyed Palm Springs and would willingly go back

Your experiences really were like chalk and cheese.

The lack of a second meal for 'special diets' is pretty shameful, especially ex-UK, it just makes Britain look cheap and nasty, if you ask me. That a decent special meal was provided ex-LAX shows it can be done.

Many of Virgin's competitors can manage snacks and second services for special diets, even in the back.

It's hard to believe that you were travelling on the same airline, and that should be one of the key points you raise, should you communicate with VS.
