V-Flyer

First UC trip after 3 economy and 1 PE. Booked for St Lucia in July after spotting areally good deal on the website and then proceeded to check both time countdown and seat allocation on a regular basis due to severe dose of excitement.
Myself and Mrs Holte arrives at T2 at about 10.15 for 1.30 departure. UC checkin was deserted with less than 10 people in the economy line.
The new security hall in T2 is upstairs and progress was rapid with both fast track and normal lines having no wait. From there it was straight into the Escape lounge.
Although it would be nice if us mere northerners were to be trusted with a clubhouse to get the true Virgin UC experience, the Escape lounge was pleasant and possibly unfairly maligned on these pages. Time seemed to pass quickly after a few sandwiches and a couple of gins. the lounge was occupied by no more than 8 people on the side we chose and wasn't much busier on the other

We boarded 'Pretty Woman' at about 1.00pm. being Newbies we were given the seat demo as well as the Champagne. the Nova IFE was showing an advert for V-port which somehow seemed cruel, but in fairness the film choice was pretty good for the 8 and a bit hour flight.
Further drinks were served before the food service , the service itself being better than the food quality, although I did think the Lentil soup was a winner!
All of the staff looking after the UC cabin were charming friendly and professional, and we arrived in UVF about 30 min early. after a short stroll avoiding the puddles we were speedily through immigration and onto reclaim where our bags were off first which was nice.

I think it's on purpose. IIRC the voice-over goes something like 'if you're really lucky then you're on a flight with our state of the art V-Port system'
