I know it's 3 weeks late and I have probably forgotten lots of details but here goes.....

Our original flight was booked as the VS 27 on Feb 1st but this was cancelled and instead of taking the later flight we opted to go a day earlier instead as the VS 15 gets in too late for my liking as I have a long drive to the coast. The only problem the cancellation caused was the loss of the seats 80 H & K that we had requested 6 months prior and there were no seats left to choose from. SO as Mr Sunshine has never flown in PE before we were in panic mode as to where we might be sitting.....which meant arriving at Gatwick 4 hours before the flight.......luckily I had pre booked a hair wash and blowdry in the CH so was able to snatch a few extra mins asleep!![|)] We checked in UC as I am AU and the girl wasn't at all helpful and we ended up not even sitting together[:0] I decided not to make too much fuss and deal with it in the CH.....great decision as they had as sorted in no time not in the Bubble but at least together in 81 A & C. [^]

Had loads of time in the CH because of our early start and had same girl as usual sort my bed hair into a wonderful style...she always makes it look better than anyone else[:D] Then had brekkie and got the gossip that started the LGW CH thread off...... I always enjoy being in the CH it is such a great way to start a flying day!!

We were called for our flight and told to go to the front of the queue to board. It seemed a busy flight. Mr S was delighted with the leg room in 81 as he is very tall so happy days[:D]

Jersey Girl took off 20 mins late for a 9 hour flight time. I thought we wouldn't get looked after so well downstairs but we had a wonderful CC looking after us who couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We were asked to choose from the menu early so we would get our first choice as I was a AU.[^] I chose the gnocchi and it was edible but couldn't really rate the food except for the pot of GU!!

We flew a different route than usual inland of Montreal and over Syracuse rather than following the coast....I meant to ask why but forgot[:I]

The FSM never made himself known during the flight and I didn't see him speak to anyone in the PE cabin.

The flight itself was uneventful...watched a couple of films and slept and annoyed Mr S who then wished we had been sitting apart after all[:p]

We landed not too late and was off quickly and through customs in no time.....no mention of ESTA just wanted the usual green form. Our bags were soon with us and the only hiccup was the escalator had broken down so as I am loathe to part with my bag once I have it I staggered up the stairs with it to the transit train.

After the worries and not so good comments on downstairs PE and seats 81 A & C in the seat ratings we were delighted....we had plenty of leg room, the fold up tv screens were clearer than the seatback ones and superb service.[^] However I wouldn't want those seats for a night flight as there is a lot of activity with the Galley and toilets in front.

Mr S has now returned in his usual UC and I have the time to write this overlong report. The weather here is better than in the UK but although warmish during the day very chilly (for Florida) at night. But I am not complaining[8D][:D]

This was my first ever report so I hope its ok.......

Sunshine

Thanks for your first ever TR[y][y]

For me, it hits all the right spots. Not only in confirming that the Clubhouse staff at Gatwick continue to provide sterling service but disproving the myth of the downstairs seats on the Gatwick fleet are the worst ever[:D]

You continue to enjoy that Florida sunshine[8D]
