Let me first say that this was my first Upper Class experience and I was really looking forward to it following months of looking at this website and getting different opinions.

CHECK IN

Arrived at check in around 3 hours prior to our departure, it was fairly busy and the Upper Class check in was dealing with a family from PE, we were directed to the PE check in, the lady was very efficient she asked the lady from Upper for all our documents, asked if we had flown Upper before and explained the lounge, fast track security and lounge procedures to us, we were then given our purple boarding cards and lounge invite and headed to through to security which was very speedy, in fact from arriving at check in we were comfortable in the lounge within 10 minutes. Overall a very good start to our holiday in Orlando.

BOARDING

Boarding was announced UC and PE first and we were 4th in line and was on board in no time at all, we were welcomed on board and directed to our seats, staight away we were offered Champagne by the cabin crew wich was served promptly, as the cabin was filling up we were approached by the FSM who introduced herself and asked if we had flown Upper before and explained how the seat worked, she was very friendly and efficient but said she would be working mostly in economy today but if we needed her just ask.

ON BOARD

Take off was on time and more champagne followed, meal orders were taken, I had the following

Carrot and coriander soup - Very hot and tasty

Chicken Tika Massala - Again very hot and tasty, large portion

Cheese and biscuits and port

I then sat at the bar for a while with a fellow passenger and had a few more drinks, I asked the crew to convert my bed which was done straight away and I had a very nice 3 hour sleep ( I think the champagne and brandy helped )

I awoke around two hours before landing and went to the bar to request a cup of tea, I was informed by a male meber of cabin crew that i would have to wait as he was busy preparing the sandwiches, whilst i appreciated that he could have put it differently, the only down side of the crew really.

Sandwiches were served, a bit dry, but edible

We arrived 30 minutes late and priority disembarking was firmly in place, with the FSM holding back economy until we were all off the plane, in fact the economy passengers were complaining but she informed them that Upper class passengers had to be off first ( Nice touch i thought )

Although we were the first off the plane Homeland security was really slow and it seemed to take ages

We then started looking for our bags and could not see them despite all the other bags being on the carousel, then there was the tanoy announcement.' Would all upper class passengers please be aware that your bags have been taken off and placed on trolleys near the exit ( Another nice touch i thought )

Al in all a very good flight, although my return experience was much better, i will post that when I have a bit more time later in the week.

A good TR - thanks for posting. Reminds me of my first UC flight a few years ago (as it was also a VS75 from MAN). Look forward to reading the return TR.
