This was my first Upper Class experience and I was really looking forward to it after joining this website and getting loads of useful info and tips [y]

Check-In

Arrived at LHR in the morning, was checked-in, given a green card to fill in and went through security. The whole process took less than 10 minutes and I proceeded straight to the CH.

Clubhouse

The CH was not too busy, I found a comfortable sofa by the sweet counter so I did not need to walk far! Had a look around, there were some great views of the airport and planes but no Virgin planes in site. I sat in different places to get a feel of the place and wherever I sat I was served swiftly and with courtesy. Unfortunately the Sky Deck was closed, Im not sure why. I then made my way to the restaurant where I ordered the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toasted brioche with whole peppermint tea. I forgot I was travelling and thought I had ended up in a very posh restaurant! I then made my way for my spa appointment, the facial was lovely leaving me feeling refreshed and relaxed before my flight.

Boarding

Priority boarding was in place, there were two gates so there was no need to skip any queues. I was welcomed aboard and shown around my suite 18A. I think there where only about 247 passengers onboard so I dont think the plane was too full.

On Board

The seat was very comfy and had a lot more leg-room then Im used to! Being able to recline during take-off and landing is useful so I can lie back and shut my eyes! As I was sitting in the front section it was quiet and felt more exclusive then the bigger section on an Airbus. There was plenty of room for my hand-luggage in the overheads and also by my seat. V-Port was working although it did crash once which was a bit annoying. The cabin crew took my order of spring leaf broth and baked cod after take-off. The food was better than I have experienced on board a plane but not amazing as the cod was a little overcooked. Later I had scones which where deliciously warm with earl grey tea and a very moist lemon ricotta cake. I then sat at the bar and chatted to some fellow passengers and crew who where all very friendly. The cabin crew where one of the best I have had the pleasure of being served by. They were extremely friendly and polite and the service was probably just as good as if Id been flying on my own private jet. I guess because there where not any UC passengers the service was more personal. I would like to give a mention to K**** who was very helpful and a shining example of what all cabin crew should be like.

Arrival

The flight was only just under 7 hours so we arrived an hour early into JFK. UC passengers where let off first and I got through immigration with 10 minutes. Bag collection was a bit slow to start but my luggage was one of the first off.

Overall this was one of the most amazing flights I have ever experienced mainly due to the wonderful cabin crew.

Glad you had a great first time UC experience. I also like the A Zone on the 747's, it feels much quieter than the B Zone.

Good to see all the planning paid off for you.

The sky deck seems to be permanently closed these days as it was being used for a having a sneaky smoke.

Nice to see someone writing when things go well and not only when something goes wrong.

I would write to:

Virgin Atlantic Airways,
The Office,
Manor Royal,
Crawley,
West Sussex,
RH10 9NU.

I'm lucky I paid all my bills either before-hand or with cash [:D]. The only thing disappointing with the flight was I had to get off [:p]
