V-Flyer

Well time to start making my way back to London. Its been almost 4 weeks and I have gone from travelling in style to travelling domestic in aus in economy to being rescued by coastguard when trying to see whales. Certainly been eventful.

So made my way to check in. Lovely lady served me asked how busy th flight was she replied 'very quiet, but thats good means you'll get more time for the massages' I was confused by this statement and went, but the in flight went ages ago. She replied 'oh thats why i havent been checking them in for a while then' Kinda worrying that some staff don't even know the products there company offers, Oh well.

Went to the Air New Zealand lounge and as many have commented here its a lovely lounge little small, but everything you need. The best food and the wine (fantastic nz whites, which I am now a fan of). What made this experience was the fact that i was greeted with welcome back Mr PL, i was kinda taken aback as i had been to the lounge only a week before and wasnt exactly eventful. Big brownie points to the staff at air nz.

Saw my chariot awaited in the form of VS201 Silver Lady. When the boarding call was made went to the gate and as the plane was all but half full I barely got there for final boarding call. Got to the plane and was promptly greeted by crew who took my jacket, glass of bubbly, sleep suit and snooze pack with a minute! Very good turned out Upper class couldn't have had more than 10 people, was so quiet.
I was in seat 8G and can see why people like this seat. Once again thanks for all the advice and seat maps.etc

We left early, as soon as we were in the air I went to the bar (wanted to take advantage of it this time as my flight to London will only involve sleep as i have work that day :o( this also means no alcohol on that flight. Started talking to the crew, in the end had my food at the bar as well went for the beef fillet and apple cheesecake(yummy!). Didn't get any company until about 2 hours in to the flight, but then was nice to start talking with fellow passengers. VS is doing well against BA once again.While talking to the crew they showed us a pic of us flying over a cathay pacific flight that had left sydney 20 mins before us(Something i wish to mention here that in 4 weeks i havent had one good thing said to me about CX, the stores have just been unbelievable). Then saw a volcano letting off vapours looked amazing. We then got peckish at the bar and had chicken skewers and shared a steak and guiness pie (mmmm very nice!)

I think it is important to mention that with only under half a plane load the crew were very attentive and there was no grouping of staff chatting.etc, which i found very professional.

After 3/4 of the journey at the bar i was kind of uncomfortable and wanted a bit of luxury with my suite and fancied watching a film. In the end we landed almost 45 mins early very uneventful, but very good flight in upper on Virgin Atlantic [^]

Sorry not much to write, but definetly shows that i want to keep flying VS (and at the front). Got one more upper return to USA, but still got 4 tier points to make GOLD. I sense a tier point run if anything just for the bonus points! Plus have to get a flight in the bubble at one point!
