Arrived at UC check-in a few hours early. Pretty busy, but was called over to the PE line for more instant service. Very friendly staff.
Continued into the lift to the UC security channel. It was pretty busy with the usual waiting for people to take off coats; take laptops out of the bag! However, I was soon very appreciative when I turned right and saw the queue for the BAA security lines - packed.
Next, my favourite part - over to the wonderful clubhouse which was pretty quiet. Lots of treatment availability for our guests (who couldn't book ahead of course!) which was a first. Lots of good food and drink.
Onto the plane. 169 people on board today and very front heavy! Full bar one seat in UC, 90% full in PE (where my parents were) and very light loads in Y. The light loads in Y must have started a seat swapping party as an announcement was made to stay in the allocated seat until the belt signs had switched off! The spread of classes probably shows how successful the recent sales and upgrade push has been! Took a good 45 minutes of queuing until we made it to the runway. Would a third runway help?!
We had an excellent flight. The FA attending to us was incredible. Superbly friendly, very attentive and good for a chat too! Forgot to fill out a Heroes form, so will drop a line to VS. The food was ok. Went for the beef olives which were very tender but had the sense to fill up in the clubhouse.
The only downside to the flight was the IFE - I knew in advance it wasn't going to be V:Port, but its so bad. The only film I wanted to watch (on a grainy screen) was Up, but there was an issue with the tape so it was replaced. Added to this, the suite was getting a little worn.
All too soon we were making our approach into Boston - very busy for thanksgiving, so sat in a holding pattern for a good 40 minutes. Quickly through the nicest immigration in the East coast and off to the T for a subway ride to the new W hotel in Boston.
Overall a very good UC experience (two sectors in a row!), but the IFE needs to be ditched or replaced.
