Due to having some crazy timed internal flight from Pune, I arrived in Delhi at 08.30am for a 13:45, so after a transfer by Taxi (as my companies travel desk had failed to book the usual Avis Car transfer! [V] ) from the Domestic Terminal to the International Terminal, I had about 2 hours to wait for the Virgin Check-in Desks to open.

When they did eventually open them, they opened the Economy Desks first and ignored those of us in the UC Check In queue, this was very quickly rectified when I asked in passing to a virgin uniformed staff member 'if the UC passengers should have been queing in the economy line' [;)]

After that everything was very smooth and soon I in the Clipper Lounge...well the LHR Clubhouse it isn't, but it was quiet and there were some limited refreshments and snacks available.

As it happens I was in the lounge a lot longer than expected as we were informed that the inbound flight was delayed by an hour (apparently problems with the baggage system at LHR caused by the bad weather.

Eventually we were advised that we could board the plane (priority boarding was in place but very busy) Both doors were in use so still turned right but straight to Seat 1A and champagne being sipped within minutes.

A quick pushback and a good tailwind meant that we were almost on time back in London.

Overall the inflight experience was good but despite being less full than the outbound flight, lacked the 'sparkle' that made that one so pleasant. The FSM came around with the Polo's, Pens and Lip Balms and did welcome me by name back on board (although checking the list just before come to me did slightly spoil the effect [:?] )

The cabin crew did not come around very often and I actually had to go to the bar just to get a drink [}:)] instead of reading my book. The food was OK (especially the lamb casserole and the cheese board) but the scones were unlike any scones I have had in Devon!

All in all I would rate this trip as 7/10.. but the one good thing is I have now made it to Au for the first time [y][^]
