This TR is for the Sydney to Hong Kong leg of the trip.

We'd had a lovely week in Sydney, we'd climbed the bridge, been to the Blue Mountains, had lunch at Doyles at Watson's Bay, been to the Zoo, been to Manly and Bondai beaches, done some shopping and been to the top of the AMP tower but now it was time to come home :(

We got to the airport about an hour before check-in opened, so we headed to the observation deck to have a drink and catch some rays. I must have been a funny sight, dressed in clothes ready for the UK weather - trying to tan my arms whilst shading my legs behind my suitcase while drinking a beer :D

Check-in opened and after a little to and fro we had our invites to the ANZ lounge and our priority lane cards. The agent couldn't move us from our pre-assigned seats in row 56 so we resigned ourselves to being cramp for the next 24 hours and headed off to the lounge.

It was a fair walk to the lounge, but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. It's light and airy and the view onto the runway is better than the Heathrow Clubhouse. We had a couple of hours to spare before boarding so we helped ourselves to food and drinks and whiled away the time.

Boarding was quick and easy and we settled in to our seats. The difference between the standard and extra leg room seats was really noticeable. I'm not tall, around 6', but I couldn't get my legs under the chair in front without rotating them at the hip. But then we had nice surprise number 3 of the trip as one of the crew found me and said they had 3 seats available for me further forward and so it was that we grabbed our bits and headed forward to row 33 with sighs of relief as we settled in.

The rest of the flight was spent on the IFE which performed without fault. I'd already seen most of the films on offer so I popped onto the inflight quiz every now and kept coming up against "Tony" in 6K. After the last game I was ahead 3-0, not that I enjoyed getting one over someone in UC :P (maybe it was all the extra booze they get up front that impaired his judgement?)

So this flight gets excellent for everything bar the groundstaff who weren't as helpful as they could have been at check-in.

Thanks for the TR. That's a mammoth trip in Economy and it's great to see that VS got it right for you.

Great set of TR's and interesting to hear your comments. Three happy customers, good publicity and at very little cost to VS - everyone wins.

The difference in legroom in these seats is really good making them perfect for longer flights like this.
