Cabin Crew
Initially we were going to save a bit by flying out economy and back premium but decided to shell out over £900 apiece for the comfort and benefits of EC both ways. Eventually secured 2 seats upstairs 24 hours prior to flight (due to my old gripe about VS Holidays pax getting half of upstairs set aside for them). Seats 70HK seemed to be a good location right in the front row but lack the extra space to stretch your legs out as the bulkhead seems rather close. Nonetheless sat back looking forward to some r&r and watch 2 or 3 movies but the entire electrical system to both seats was broke; no light, no call button, no sound, no movies.
The crew were fantastic and did everything they could apart from repair the problem. They offered me a customer comment form which at least gave me something to do for half an hour other than stare down at the ocean.
On my return VS customer relations team had responded with a massive... wait for it... an unbelievable credit to our frequent flyer mileage of 4,000 points.
I have emailed them twice since, accepting that they may be overwhelmed by some unjust ash claims but, to date no acknowlegement has been forthcoming.
Maybe they are adopting the Ryanair code of customer service and will ignore me until I go away. Next time possibly I will as one's loyalty to an airline is severely challenged when you are treated in this manner. Has any other passenger had similar instances?

..replying to my own post... quite unbelievably a reply came in from VS minutes after my posting. It appears that 4,000 points is the standard handout for the non availability of an entertainment system but they have reviewed my complaint and increased this to 6k - possibly as this was PE cabin. Personally I would have thought circa 10k to be a more appropriate recompense but at least they have responded and, whilst not delighted by the outcome, it's not worth falling out over.

Nope! 4K is the standard going rate even in premium cabins
