:) Always love a trip to Las Vegas, this was the first time flying in Y class, so was not sure what to expect. A lot of the TR's on V-Flyer have been in PE or UC, so was unable to get a good idea.

The flight was aboard Pretty Woman and I had selected seat 25K at twilight checkin. I was aware that this seat is slightly narrower than the standard economy seat, but I wanted to be off and out quickly to avoid the growing immigration line at LAS.

We departed a few minutes late, but nothing that was of concern, boarding was done quickly and in fact this has been the best and quickest board that I have experienced on the Vegas route.

Departure was from 26L at LGW and the climb out pretty uneventful, just the odd bump, but nice and smooth, as was the whole flight.

Drinks were served quite quickly and so was the inflight meal, as usual, 3 options Sweet and Sour chicken with rice, Beef cassorole and a vegetable pasta, I opted for the chicken and was really suprised at just how good it was! I usually fly PE and the food was much better than I have been served in PE on the last few flights.

Drinks were then again served with the meal, opted for a nice red wine, which again was really nice.

We were treated to a choc ice, it was ok, and to pass the time, I tried to think of how they managed to coat the ice cream with such a thin layer of chocolate.

A little later, a small hot filled tortilla roll came round, 2 choices, chicken with honey and mustard and a cheese filled, the chicken was again selected and was enjoyed, it was very hot and I did end up with a burnt tongue, I believe this hot roll is served in PE, Ii sort of remember burning my tongue on something very simular before!

A further sandwich round was done about 2 hours from landing, again there were 2 choices, corornation chicken or a cheese of some kind, it was again nice and fresh. With all the food on offer, I am not sure this round was really needed

I did not bother with the IFE, the choice of films for the NOVA system were okish but nothing jumped out as a must watch. I think a few pax had issues with their screens, so the LGW fleet update next year I am sure will be very welcome.

Seat 25K was a good choice, the escape side did impeed legroom a little, but was more than comfortable, I would however not reccommend this seat if you of a larger build, the table which folds out of the arm rest has limited reach and with a belly in the way, it is just not going to be good or comfortable.

Landing was smooth and came with the well known clap from the Y class folk, which of course was met with sniggers and rolled eyes from the cabin crew.

CC on the trip were excellent, very attentive and professional, as mentioned, this was my first trip in Y class and all in all quite impressive.

I would reccommend the twilight checkin, what was once the best kept secret, but it does save time and if you want that all important seat, it is worth the time and effort.

I did make full use of the clubhouse and I enjoyed every second of the experience, excellent service, excellent food and drink and a real nice calm place to relax before your flight.

I know the feeling about the choc-ice - the chocolate coating is just not thick enough to maintain integrity while eating!

Glad you had a good flight - I've flown regularly (mostly Y) in all classes and when the cabin crew are good, Y is a good place to be in, but when they are bad - it is bad ...

Yep, sticky fingers ...

I'm surprised they still do the four food distribs in Y/W after all these years, I remember feeling quite distinctly that it was a bit too much, and would usually skip tea. Especially as you end up flying in mid-afternoon, and it would usually make sense for you to have some dinner. Not with the extreme carb load.

And yet you still get some people saying there isn't enough food - you can't win! :)
