So after a leisurely morning packing, getting a hair cut, answering a few emails, we headed down to SFO by car. We had booked parking at Anza with http://www.airportparkingreservations.com, a pretty good deal, at less than $10 per day for valet.
Car was parked and we took the shuttle up to SFO. I had checked in on line but obviously we still had to show up for bag check. The UC line was much shorter so we opted for that instead of bag check and had our bags checked right through to JNB. Check in was efficient and courteous as it usually is at SFO.
Off to the club house, though why DW decided she should lead the way I don't know, she had forgotten it was groundside and was producing documentation for the security line before I steered her in the right direction.
Club house was reasonably busy, but we grabbed a table where we could watch Roy Halladay throw his no hitter, the best entertainment actually being the older american lady explaining it to a British guy. Sort of like your gran explaining cricket to an American - not that helpful :D

Fortunately the flight was delayed by 30 minutes so we got to see the end of the game. Boarding was efficient with a priority line and most passengers on board before UC was called down. At SFO there is now a priority lane for secuirty which the club house staff escorted us to.

Seat area was clean, table worked, IFE worked, staff soon had a drink in my hand and a sleep suit to change into. We had 16 and 17A, my favorite seats on the 747.

Food was very good, as it was on all four flights, a real uptick in this area maybe? Wine was drinkable, as a seasoned wine professional I would highly recommend the Spanish Re and White. My wife tried a Marsanne / Viognier for which no one had trained one of our CC on its pronunciation, and unfortunately she was a little tone deaf to listening to the correct pronunciation.

Flight arrived a little late and we were soon through immigration and into Revivals for shower and brekkers.

Sounds much better than your JBG flight, food imo is much better than it was this time last year albeit not perfect.

Cheers

I bet you were glad you managed to steer DW in the right direction just it time ):

I think the delay helped you miss the usual gate scrum - I know this can be a little chaotic at times.

Glad you enjoyed the flight, and the food :D
