So booked these as reward UC flights for myself and my wife - it was our honeymoon and we were doing the safari thing and then the beach. Checked in about 3 hours prior to the flight and T3 was very quiet and checkin was simple and we were then directed to the security channel and then to the lounge. Been a few years since I was last in the lounge and it was amazing, my wife loved it! Her first UC and lounge experience!

We had some dinner and champagne in the lounge which was lovely and then headed down to the gate when called. Boarding was simple and we were soon in our seats and being well looked after. When the steward looked at my wifes ticket on boarding and he said "Just turn left" my wife got him to say it twice she was so excited!! I turned on the TV after take off and was horrified that it was the old system where you cannot pause it etc, my wife wasnt too impressed either and we just decided to go to sleep instead. Got to say the pack they give you is terrible - ten years ago it might have sufficed in Economy but for Upper its a bit of a disgrace.

However, the staff were terrific, the seat was lovely, the food was decent and overall the experience was fantastic. My wife will hate turning right ever again on an aircraft!! :)

Congrats on your marriage. I loved the way you referred to "my wife" all through the report. It obviously sounds good to you. y)

Yes, the amenity kit is pretty grim but it is still better than the so called "Scrooge Pack" they had before it which was in a cardboard envelope. BA's Club World offering isn't much better and the days of little treats are well gone.

Glad you enjoyed the flight, and I love the fact "your wife" asked to be told to turn left twice! I think turning right will no longer be an option!
