As mentioned in a previous report, I arrived at BOS pretty early and had to wait for check in to open. Luckily for me, it opened 15 minutes early, so I was the first to check in and no-one else was really around. I did notice that at the BA desks next to the VS desks they had canceled their flight, which was a perfect symmetry of what had happened on the way out - whe I got moved to the BA flight.
I was quickly through a very quiet security (there was a priority lane but both lanes were empty so it didn't really matter) and I was through into the airside of the terminal. I was surprised at how small it was, and didn't seem to be a huge selection of shops or eating stands - I'd be heading to the lounge so wasn't too fussed. I did have a browse through Borders and bought a book, and then made my way in the lift down to the Virgin lounge. It's the first time I'd been in this one, and found it similar to the Newark one - pretty small, no windows, but nicely laid out. I got settled and passed the time eating, reading, drinking and watching some programmes on my laptop. (See the 'greetings from the BOS clubhouse' for more details on the outrageously excellent chocolate cake!)
Boarding was called at 7pm and the gate was pretty quiet so again I was quickly onto the plane and getting settled into my suite (2K) I had a chat with the CC looking after me, and told her that I wouldn't be requiring any food as I hoped to get to sleep as soon as we were airborne. I changed into my sleep suit and had a bucks fizz to pass the time until we took off. At this point the CC came back to me and asked if I was happy with my seat - and as I planned to sleep and as I was a gold card holder I was being offered the first chance to move to the sleep zone, which I thought was a good touch. However, as I was now 'settled' and based upon the advice on here that the snooze zones on the A330 can be bit noisy with the passing traffic, I elected to stay where I was.
true to my form, as soon as we were airborne I changed my seat to a bed and slept solidly for just over 5 hours! Just time to wake up, get changed and grab a bacon butty and a coffee at the bar before being asked to take our seats for landing. We were only kept in a holding pattern for 10 minutes which is pretty good by LHR standards and soon on the gate and off the plane.
Luggage was just coming through when I got to the belt, so was soon on the HEX to get into my Adison Lee car and home.

Again - can't fault anything with VS - the friendliness of the staff was excellent again (and compared to the staff on the BA flight on the way out!)

Good you hear you had a relaxing flight. Also very jealous you managed to get 5 solid hours of sleep - I've never been able to do that no matter what class I fly in!

Thanks for the TR!
I find that since Virgin have "upgraded" the bed side of the seats, it is much easier to have a proper sleep.
I managed to sleep for most of the flight last time I returned from SFO and a very nice sleep it was too!

The flight was just over 6 hours, so it was perfect. As well as being knackered and being one of those annoying people that can pretty much fall asleep anywhere.... Though it doesn't half help being in a bed!

I've got my first UC night flight later this year so will see how I bet on! It's something about the cabin noise that helps me sleep, weird I know!
