Mr S dropped me off at the terminal and I as I approached the PE check In area I was called over to the UC desk. A very nice man checked me in and said do you know where the CH house is? Yes I replied. With that he told me to enjoy it and I was whisked into the lift and up to the private security channel

Oh how wrong can one be.....I waltzed up to the CH and handed over my boarding card and was met with a stare from hell. You are not on our list said the door to heaven guard. I replied in my best posh accent that i was told to come up here at the Check In desk. She called someone over who disappeared with my card and then returned to inform me that as I was Ag I was not allowed in. Oh how I wished the ground would swallow me up

At the gate there were calls for people to upgrade at reduced rates as they were over full in economy and plenty seemed to be taking up the offer.
Boarding was fine and I was very happy with my seat 22A. There is no one sitting behind you to pull on the seat and you can be reclined the whole flight which is brill on a night flight. I had a very nice passenger next to me too.
At this point I should say that it was my first trip to Dubai and I was very nervous due to a bad incident when I transited through Bahrain several years ago after which I vowed never to go to the Middle East again. However a dear friend has decided to move there to live and so I thought I would have to try and overcome my fears. It probably wasn't the best decision to travel alone though

After my much needed Kir Royales in the terminal, I then took the offered PE bubbles and then another glass all before take off. Then another when the first drinks came round and then quite a few more all for dutch courage of course

I got up very groggily to use the loo before the seat belt sign came on and sat down only to look up to find a man staring at me along with all the passengers in the two rows opposite........I hadn't locked the door and had dozed off:0

Oh dear lord how was I going to be able to walk back out to my seat with my dignity in tatters after exposing myself

Of course I had no choice and I just had to. It must rate as one of the most embarrassing moments of my life and I've had quite a few

Luckily the seat belt signs came on and I hid in my corner and then scuttled off the plane. It did however take my mind off my original fear of arriving in the UAE

The whole arrival process was smooth with no queues at passport control however we then had over a 30 min wait for our bags

I must add that the crew in the PE section were fab...efficient and happy unlike the ones on the way back but that is another TR....
