Happy Easter to all from Sunny Florida :D

I was relieved to find the traffic was ok on the M25 as I had been thinking of Good Friday escapees clogging the road - so we arrived at LGW nice and early.

The check in area was quiet for all classes. Both myself and Miss Sunshine were checked in and through fast track security very quickly and off to the CH.

As usual we were greeted like long lost friends by the lovely ladies on reception had a quick chat and then made for the treatment area. We were very lucky to get a booking as only one member of staff was working that day and many were being turned away from earlier flights but as we had arrived so early for our flight we were able to take later treatments.

Then we enjoyed a cooked breakfast before making for the duty free shop. Miss Sunshine always seems to blow her holiday money before we have even boarded the plane :w

Back to the CH where I had arranged to meet Hiljil who was on the later MCO flight. Such a lovely lady and we had a good V flyer chat and laugh. Then it was off for our treatments before leaving for the gate.

UC was full but there were some empty seats in the little front section of econ where Miss S was sitting. So they were able after take off to move around and she had an empty seat next to her :D

There were two FSM's working and they both came and welcomed us by name and were delightful. One gave the funniest take off speech I have heard for a long time as if she was a headmistress giving us a lecture on the perils of drinking |:) However if I had wanted there seemed to be no shortage of drinks on board but I was the model mother and stuck to water as I had a 2 hour drive from MCO to our condo n(

Lunch was delicious. I had the soup and then the macaroni. Miss S suddenly appeared and managed to eat most of my cheesecake ):

It was lively flight in UC with the bar area buzzing. Miss S was allowed to come and visit me and she sat in my seat while I popped up to the PE bubble to meet Chumba and Mrs Chumba. Such a treat to meet 2 v-flyers in one day y) Our lovely chat was interrupted by the seat belt sign - not sure if Chumba had arranged that to escape from me :w However we were informed that it was just to regain order on the plane and I could stay kneeling on the floor of PE chatting. I felt very naughty ):

During the second film we were given easter egg ice creams and when I asked for a coffee there was a little lindt bunny with it oo) It made my day - I'm so easily pleased.

The IFE worked fine, the crew were outstanding. We were offered cream eggs and bunnies on decent into MCO so all in all a fab flight :X

It was a bit of a stampede to Passport control as 3 planes had landed but a very nice man was dealing with the line and we were soon through to our cases. At Avis we had been given a double upgrade for free and I drove away in a very luxurious car :D

So a great experience and my only complaint was the disgustingly dirty seat and area which I feel really lets the virgin experience down. Such a shame when you have a crew who were so fantastic v(

Lovely TR Sunshine, but shame on VS for mucky seat. I agree, I do feel that the CC are usually the shining light and other aspects let VS down (except for my flight from SFO on Thursday, but that's another story).

Glad you had a great flight. We did the same trip on 21st April, and like you, couldn't help but notice the seats were a bit mucky. I even found myself using the hot flannel on the washable bits!

Happy Easter to everyone. Yep, weather is lovely so far - even with the storm of 90 mins ago...

Loved the TR and have a great holiday. I wonder what the record is for V-flyers independently booking the same flight?

Great TR Sunshine :)

So pleased that you were able to get treatments :D

A double upgrade at Avis :0 I so have to beat that next time, bet it wasn't an Eddie Bauer Special though like we had a few years ago ;)

Am disappointed that there is no toilet story to tell though :w

Enjoy the sunshine & the shopping y)

There were 4 seperate v-flyer bookings on the mini party bus to SFO in September 2009 of 5 v-flyers (7 pax in total if you include hangers on!).

All were booked independently and only came to light from the itinerary planner

I think there were probably more on the first party bus to the Bay to Breakers before that. It's the photo on the home page

Wasn't that photo taken in 2008? Or perhaps even 2007? Maybe it was to Las Vegas :? One of the participants will be able to confirm but there were 14 in the photo, not counting Ben who would not have been flying back with them

Edited to add: Nope! It was 2005 How time flies!! :0

That is why I think the itinerary list is so good because it gives a chance to PM another v flyer and arrange to meet. Without the list I would never have known that there were other v flyers lurking at LGW or met Daffodil on my Dubai fight earlier this year.

I do enjoy being sociable :w

Thank you for the TR. I totally agree with you about the itinerary list. It was lovely to meet another v-flyer and chatter away as if we were long lost friends. :D Also confirms what a nice bunch v-flyers are. y)

Thanks Sunshine...

Both you and chumber have referred to a bit of disorder on the plane, and the seatbelt signs went on to restore a bit of order.

Can you elaborate on this, what was going on and why was it more so than on other flights do you think?

Thanks for the great TR. It's always good to hear a fellow v-flyer has had a good experience and the CC have shone :-)

Sorry Concorde RIP....but not that exciting really. Just that in UC about half of the cabin was around the bar with one or two visitors. They were getting louder and louder and the language a little colourful so much so that even with my trusted QC15's I was having trouble hearing the film. The funny thing was that they were not all traveling together but bonded over several bevvies to the point that games of golf were being planned. I did join in for a bit of a chat but as I was a designated driver I didn't really want to watch everyone else downing drinks :(

I have been on livelier flights usually involving las Vegas :0 :w

Hope this answers your question
