V-Flyer

We last flew Virgin 5 years ago. Because of the poor Service we received on the way home, we have been using other airlines since.
We decided to go to Orlando for a 2 week stay. We decided to give VA another chance. One reason was that I like the UC seat layout from LGW and also that Virgin use 747's rather than BA 777.
The check in was not exactly welcoming, but at least it was efficient. VS15 seems to be delayed quite often and ours was no exception, but at least it was only 30 minutes delay to 1330.
However when we reached the UC lounge we were greeted warmly by the staff and the Service was excellent. My wife treated herself to a wonderful facial (only because we had time from the dealay!!) The UC lounge makes every penny extra you spend well worth it.
We decided to head off for the gate even though the flight had not been called and were suprised to get 'paged' just before we got to the gate. It seems some of the delay time had been reduced.
From the moment we boarded the flight and sat myself down in 11A, I have to say the Cabin Crew were exceptional. They compare very favourably with the BA first class crew, whom I also rate highly.
The Virgin Crew could not do enough for you and made it one of the most pleasurable flight we have ever had.
The food on board has improved so much in 5 years. I don't think I have ever ate so much on a flight!!
A strong headwind slowed us down and we arrived a little late in Orlando. But frankly we didn't care as being on board was so pleasurable.
Well done Virgin. Let's hope the home bound crew are just as good!

I love reading positive TR's like this. When VS get it right it is a great product, they just need to be more consistent
