Onboard the HEX, all the previous stresses of London traffic faded away. A swift 15 minutes alter, I was in T3 Zone A. Lined up at PE but a free UC agent called me forwards. Plenty of chat, fun banter and pleasantries passed as she diligently attended to my bags and documents. Then with a wave and a smile she wished me well and on I travelled.
T3 seemed to be having a bit of a face lift. The Central Starbucks has moved and there were many areas boarded off from access – Hopefully this won’t take too long to complete.
Trekked the well worn path through the various outlets and turned towards the VA Clubhouse. Although not traveling UC on this flight, for a very reasonable fee, access was gained! HOME! I never really know what to do as I want to experience everything at once when I enter.
Eventually signed up for a Haircut and neck massage preceded only by a spot of dinner – Had to be the Classic CH Burger! The roof garden was cold and wet, so thought better of it. Stayed in the chill out zone and read my book waiting for VS17 to be called. The lounge was fairly quiet so plenty of space to kick back and relax.
17 was called at gate 22 – Sweet Dreamer A340-600. Boarding was efficient and quick – before I knew it I was holding a glass of champers in the PE cabin. The plane was jammed pack, but the PE still managed to feel spacious and in now way over crowded – worth every cent!
Push back was swift and we were eventually in the skies a little earlier than expected. Then the usual in-flight services began – constant top up of food and drink from the two very attentive PE crew. Purchased a few items on the duty free and then settled back for a relaxing flight. The DIY jukebox playlist is a great function! The Movies were also pretty good, although I had seen most already.
About an hour before landing the Captain announces we’re ahead of schedule and would be landing probably 20-30 mins earlier than scheduled and true to his word, I was standing in the Immigration line at 10:40.
So that was it - a trip across the pond by the best airliner in the world (not that I’ve tried every airline… but I think a spot of creativity is allowed here!)
