now if you have read my Jet Blue TR up to JFK (part one of the story) heres how it ended

finally getting to the gate at 2125. 35 mins left to get from T5 to T4 AND clear security....not quite. the air bridge got stuck so we stood and waited, and waited and ......waited until - i finally deplaned at 2135 with now 25 mins left.
would I make it or be stuck in JFK all night ????

--------------------------------------------------------------

so off the plane, power walk through T5 to Air Train (about 10 miles as the crow flies, 2 mins on train to T4, up escalators, power walk/shove through crowd to security . dead stop. through desk to scanner -chaos. Now i could be rude here, but thats not me. I am going to be very rude. why dothese MORONS always get in my line then try and check 3 of the biggest bags you have seen, forgetting laptops, drinks bombs whatever. 'Oh do I need to take off my 2 coats ?? :? you mean I cant carry this can of coke through ? :# ' by now my fuse was short (very) and when some guy took three attempts I finally snapped and in my best New york accent yelled 'JEESUS buddy cmon some of us have a plane to catch !!!!!!!!!!' I think he got it.
at last i fought my way through but not before some non English speaking Indian woman tried to come back through the scanner the wrong way ,REALY peing off the TSA agent . never have i heard 'GO BACK' so many times and so loudly :D
Finally made it to gate 28 and......... boarding was still taking place :) y)
the PE/UC priority lane was empty and promptly used before slumping into my seat to hear those immortal words -'drink sir'...oh yea baby ...

anyway after all this the flight was pretty good, take off at 2300 , food and drinks within the hour, had the chicken which was ok AND the bottles of wine are back ;) and the baileys oo)
just what the doctor ordered.
i managed to get some sleep and we landed at a very wet LHR around 10am . had a hower and brekkie at the Air Canada arrivals lounge and then picked up and off to work

all ready to head to the US Embassy early weds to renew my visa -(the real reason for the trip) OR so I thought.................................................................. but thats another story for the return TR (whenever it happens :0 )

Crikey..I'm out of breath just reading this great TR..both parts 1 and 2 thanks.

What a brillaint close shave though, no hanging around JFK...thanks to the crass pax that kept you on edge.
n(
Hope the Visa works out, keep us up to date with progress and hope you get back to FLA without any hassle. :)

I can feel your frustration trying to get through security at JFK - it's like most people have never flown before!

Glad you made the flight! Result!

No these people have flown before but seam to think that the rules only apply to other pax and not to themselves!

That's what I said, they act like they've never flown before, even though many probably fly fairly regularly. :D

I recall one year an old couple who were trying to take their recently purchased Starbucks through security and really did not want to dispose of them (or rejoin the queue!) TSA were firm as they were holding everyone up!

What I really don get though is why they dont just check their HUGE bags in rather than lug them around and fight with compartment space, I've always checked my bags on internal flights and found the luggage fast every time! Hmmm one will never know.

Wow - thanks for two great TRs, drama most of the way (why do US carriers allow so much baggage onboard?) v( ...thankfully the wine and baileys were waiting for you.... ;)

Hope all is going to plan, look forward to the return TR.

latest update, part 3 of the saga is yet to be completed.

as of today I have no passport (still at US embassy) so flying Friday is looking doubtful.

all will be revealed................

Why did you mark down the ground staff? It's the TSA you experienced ... no?
