Quite an uneventful (thankfully) journey home. Arrived at LAX at around 6pm to find the check-in and TSA areas completely empty.

Checked in, asked if any seats available in Row 18, only the middle one was, so opted to stay in 21H. Was also told that there is to be at least a 30 min delay - not too much of a problem.

Dropped the bag off, went to security which again was empty and straight into the departure lounge. Went for a wander which lasted all of about 5 minutes, then opted to spend the rest of the time at the Roadhouse bar.

9pm came and we went over the the gate where they had just announced priority boarding. The gate area was very light in passengers. On we went with no fuss, UC and PE was packed, Econ was, like our outbound flight, very light. plenty of space to lounge around and grab 4 seats.

I am also very happy to say that our CC in PE were fantastic. Especially the guy running our side, he noticed that we had quickly drank our welcome drink, so topped us of, not once more, but a few times - star man.

Once airbourne, the food was very quickly out with the drinks run. Had the Lamb curry which was not as good as I had hoped. the starter looked very uninspiring and the pudding was equally bland (peach crisp, which was more like a peach crumble where the crumble is a stodgy wet mess) Only the drinks attitude of the CC made we select average, otherwise it would have been poor.

Earplugs in, seat reclined a little and off I went to sleep, waking up with just 2 hours to go. This is the first time I have slept this much on a flight, and I include my UC trip earlier this year... though that may have been due to the fact of being a UC first timer and spending far far too much at the bar :)

Breakfast came, it was slightly better but nothing inspiring - I hope the PE fare gets a refresh too.

Landing was fine, the FSM announced that this was the first flight by the captain, who has been with VA for 2 years, she finished off with something like "you could probably tell with that landing" -didnt think it was that bad.

Went thru immigration then had nearly an hour wait for our bags. The UC bags came very quickly, then about a 40 min wait before the crew bags came, a further 10 mins before ours.

All in all, a good flight (except the food), CC were very good. I made "silver" with this trip, so need to look into what that gets me

Lucky devil. Despite the fact I can happily nod off in the far from comfortable confines of a seat on either a First Capital Connect train or an EZY flight, put me in a big aircraft and sleep eludes me, big time.

Perhaps your ability to snooze was related to
