So finally at JFK and greeted warmly at the check in desk and processed quickly and without any fuss. It was then across to the Clubhouse for a shower, something to eat and drink and well, that was the plan. Arrived into the lounge later than I would normally but still had time for the above (well just!) so enjoyed a couple of red-heads and someone approached me and said I was the spitting image of a famous movie star - I asked which one and she couldn't just remember so that was the end of that conversation

Anyway boarding was called at 1700 and security was a nightmare but when I reached the front of the queue they opened up more lanes....so walked straight up to the gate and addressed by name and walked straight on to the plane. Was greeted warmly (but not by name...

However, the CC member looking after my section was lovely and appeared with a glass of champagne quickly - she was great and again I knew this would be a good flight. Menu, bottle of water and amenity kit all in place and the suite was clean and tidy. A sleep suit was offered and accepted too. Boarding was really quick, in fact as the captain asked for doors to automatic and cross-check, some people who had just boarded were still getting themselves organised and two CC had trays of champagne, OJ and water when the call came and they ran down the aisle looking puzzled

The captain came on and explained that with a flight time of just 6hrs we really could not take off until around 7pm as we could not land at LHR until 6am at the earliest because of local noise restrictions, so we were going to push back and hold on the apron. We did just that pushing back at 1759 and didn't depart until 1848 just ahead of a BA jumbo

During the wait the CC took drink and dinner orders and asked about the breakfast service....now the CC team were good, very good in fact but as the only AU in UC I was not spoken to or welcomed back by the FSM or the CSS - I am sounding like a broken record with this....

However, with two FSMs in UC, one the true FSM and one in place of the CSS, well doing the role of a CSS things worked like clock work....Once airborne, hot towels were offered and quickly followed by the drinks with either crisps or asian crackers - refills again proactively offered. Tables for dinner were laid at 1930 and I enjoyed the tasty tomato and fennel soup with a large chunk of goat's cheese floating in it - delicious

The New York free-range Chicken breast came next and was a huge portion with mash and veggies with a seperate sauce jug. I passed on cheese but did dig into the bread pudding, wine and water were offered regularly and on my second glass the CC member looking after my section said she was knocked as she was pouring my wine into the glass and produced a rather full glass with a cheeky wink!!

Dinner all wrapped up by 2030 it was time to convert the bed which the FSM did for me as someone had tied the duvet pack with a very tight knot and he had to go away and cut it...slept well for a good three hours and woke to hear breakfast been served around me. I had decided to pass though did pick up a glass of OJ from the bar on a trip to the loo.
Around 0515 the FSM announced that the seat belts would be coming on in 15mins and if we would like to help ourselves to coffee/tea we could do so at the bar - a few of us went down to see bacon rolls, fruit, juices and cereal all laid out on the bar with the crew offering tea/coffee - not bad at all and not seen that before but it worked well!
Lovehearts were offered before touch down and with everyone strapped in we touched down at 0602 and on the gate shortly afterwards. Was off quickly and thanked for flying VS.
What can I say, another great flight with a super crew. Thanks and well done VS.
