V-Flyer

On the day of the flight, I went to Stamford Bridge to watch the Chelsea v. Bolton Match. Th reason I brought this upis that Mr. Tinuks is one of those people that likes to arrive at airports at 6pm for a 10pm flight to avoid the usual crowds. With a bit of negotiation, I managed to convince him that the combination of DTCI and the private channel will make getting to the airport early unecessary. So I accepted the invite to use DTCI (which I don't normally use on a Z fare because I can't be bothered to call book a time and then call agan with the taxi details when it arrives) and happily went off to watch the match (which thankfully we won).


Anyway, back to the trip report. Arrived at DTCI, our bags were collected and tagged and the stubs were stuck to our boardng passes, through the private security and in the clubhouse in less than 5 minutes. Mr. Tinuks was very impressed by this. We dropped our hand luggage off and went to Duty Free where he spent the better part of an hour in World of Whiskies and used up both our alchohol allowances. Did a bit more last minute
buying and went back into the oasis of the clubhouse.

I bookedmy usual maintenance manicure and ordered my clubhouse burger. Mr. Tinuks visted the deli nad had the salmon, cold cuts and rye bread. Both were delish. Drinks were whisky and soda for him and for me a cosmopolitan. After the meal, I has my manicure done and ordered another drink - a ginger top this time.

Soon it was time to board at Gate 22. That was a really long walk. Managed to get to the plane without wheezing and settled in and shock-horror, no special greeting for this newly minted AU.

The flight was almost perfect. Friendly cabin crew though service was a bit slow. All I wanted for dinner was a sticky toffee pudding and the CC asked if I would like that served on Mr. Tinuks' tray so that we could dine together and I thought that was a lovely idea. On the downside though, I asked if she could nick a GU pot for me from Y and she never came back with it. Probably forgot

But that was just a minor glitch. Service was excellent otherwise. Now comes the IFE. About 3 of the films I wanted to watch weren't playing so I settled for The Inbetweeners. I couldn't really get into it and decided to watch some TV shows instead but managed only one episode of Arrested Development. Everey other option I chose was not available. Eventually watched the journey map until I slept.

I didn't get out of bed until the last minute. All in all, it was a very good journey
