V-Flyer

After a too quick 4 nights it was time to head back home. We had a really great time, just chilling.

Had seats 21H/K pre-booked, got to checking and was directed to the UC checkin as that was empty. Asked if row 18 was free and the 3 middle seats were, so we got E/F. I knew that PE was lightly loaded so the chances of someone next to us would be small - and it turned out so.

Immigration was a breeze, all staff still very friendly and happy.

Called to board and we were the first two on. Oh, I should have mentioned that I got SEQ 1/2 again for the return, so this made it a hatrick of SEQ 1s.

We got on and settled into 18E/F. PE filled up and there was still about 7 seats free, including 19 D/E/F. towards the end a few more folk came on, inc those for row 19, but no one in 18D, so we could spread our stuff about.

Something strange then happened. The FSM came over to me and addressed me by name and introduced himself.. he recognised that I was silver and thanked me for continued custom. he went off to speak to one other person then headed back to the galley - a nice touch.

As the entertainment kicked off, so did my screen, it refused to stay in position so I let the CC know and jumped over the 18D.

Flight was uneventful. Food was terrible - I should have changed from the Hindu meal - got some lamb/veg/rice combo which was disgusting. the breaky was even worse, but to be honest it wasnt worth moaning about, I had some fruit instead.

landed in Manchester in only the furthest gate away (200 i think), immigration was clear so went straight thru, bags were coming out as we arrived and I was out the door soon after. From leaving the aircraft to being outside in 15 minutes - that is a first for me. It would have been the second fastest time had I not got pulled by customs in Jan when I was returning from a trip to India with Emirates in F, where I was the first person out of the place, in security, my bag was first out, I was feeling very smug until the nice officer pulled me to one side - ah well.

Back to VS - a nice little plane, be interesting to see what the 3 class seating plan will look like
