V-Flyer

After my flight from BHD I was looking forward to an hour or three in The Clubhouse. Check in was a matter of seconds and I was soon in charge of a glass of Champers and a small plate of ham salad. I went off to relax for a few hours avoiding the minor pop celebraties in the lounge and meeting the nice young man making the vodka cocktails! Much bubbly and a Clubhouse burger later, I left very early for the extremely long walk to gate 32, so I was second/third on board. While I got changed another "coupe" glass of bubbly was placed on the v silly/useless drinks tray at my seat. As I couldn'd see a single bubble in the glass, I asked for it to be changed. This was done and then I discovered my mistake....in the bigger glasses bubbles are few and far between and the first glass was not as I had thought "flat". Whether because of my request or not, the next crew member to deal with me was, cool, uninterested, unhelpful, unsmiling and gave every impression of wanting to be elsewhere! I had not been in anyway rude or unpleasent so I put it down to his youth and possible inexperience. This was funny when, after take off, the CSM who had met me at the door, came round, introduced himself and went out of his way to welcome me back and chat, quite charming actually. Later, I was "randomly" selected for the in-flight questioner.
As I had eaten in The Clubhouse, I opted for just the prawns and bed. The flight was only 6 hours.Foolishly opted for the "grab and go" breakfast, no, no, no!!!!!! My fault, too little. The usual 10 minute taxi to the stand and we exited L1 soon enough.
All in all, a pleasant flight if let down a little by a young dis-interested member of CC, but then again, most pax went to bed very quickly so why provide any service???? At least there were no very loud babies on board, unlike on the way home.

Shame about the service, but as you say, on a night flight out of Heathrow to Dubai where the vast majority would have, like you, made ample use of the Clubhouse it is a difficult call for the Crew
