V-Flyer

Now I have to be honest. I was upgraded at the gate. Not the first time but the first time not at LHR. I thought my chances were quite good but when it actually happend,I could hardly contain myself as the gate agent told me of my "seat change", she didn't say to 16A, but scored out the printed boarding card and handed it back to me.V happy........... until I boarded!!!!!!
Children, small children, in Upper. Why?????? How????? To be fair,the extended family group of 12 or so were not in any way disruptive, just the small children, 3/4 or so. The parents/grandparents behaved very well, especially the dads, but the children were terrible, in my opinion. Easter hols, what can you expect? And, I hadn't paid for the seat, they had!
No greeting this time from the CSM but the crew overall were much more friendly and engaged, when the lady near me became upset, she received excellent support/comfort from the crew who I thought were quite brilliant. The flight was,children apart, uneventful.The new food service was not very different from the old one....afternoon tea was more of "an affair", but other than that, much the same but then I don't eat cheese so the trolly service was wasted on me.
Landed 30 mins early only to wait 10 mins for an airbridge. Exited L1 to find IRIS still working. Why are they ending this excellent system????????????
Looking forward to a rerurn in Aug ust when I am fortunate to be in Upper both ways

Great to hear about the much improved CC for your return Children on flights are like Marmite you either love them or hate them However I have nothing but respect for parents of children who are well behaved & quiet for an entire flight - something that I have experienced on my last couple of flights!

Ok , I'm going to bite.
Why? Why shouldn't they be ? I've been guilty of the inward groan in latter years when I see kids heading down the cabin but have travelled with a young 'un in the past too as a parent (as have many others here). Dragonbaby was much happier up the front than down the back (and that hasn't changed over the years).
How? Because a ticket has been bought for them.

Dear DL, I don't feel that I've been bitten, perhaps just nibbled! I have conceeded that they all had paid for their tickets, that still does not improve the passenger experience for the non-parents, like me.
