Time to return to the UK after a relaxing break in FMB.

Took a Southwest flight from Fort Myers up to Orlando. Very full flight - we were the amongst the last to board and ended up at opposite ends of the cabin. My seat was obtained by virtue of the cabin crew having to all but insist that another passenger move her handbag of her seat.

Any way, arrived at MCO at 3.30 for the 8.45 VS74. I'd done OLCI (seq 1 and 3) and bagged 79a and c in the bubble, so we dropped the bags off and had a wander.

Having heard it mentioned by other V-Flyers we tried Mcoys steak bar in the Hyatt - we enjoyed it muchly. Good view of the airport, good and not expensive food and drinks and exemplary service - a good way to spend an hour.

A bit more wandering around land slide and then through security; took about 5 minutes. So there we are hanging around gate 81, when we are paged to the VS desk! Yes! The upgrade to UC! No! instead would we mind moving forward? What to the cockpit I rejoin, to be met with a blank look by the agent. No sir, would you move two rows forward as two other pax would like your seats. No I replied. But one of them has back pain I was told. But the seats are all the same I said. Yes but people behind him disturb him. Well they disturb me as well I said so we'll stay where we are. End of conversation. Perhaps I was mean; perhaps ( and I lean this way) just a try on.

The flight food and cabin crew were all excellent. The bubble in its present config will be missed but plus ca change!

The IFE worked but beware! The film Warhorse takes far too many liberties with the book, but I don't suppose I can pin this on VS.

So all in all a very good experience this flight, and ditto the outward VS75 previously reported.

Thanks for the TR, stevebrass. I think my reply to the gate agent would not have been so polite v(. 79A-C are my absolute all-time fav PE seats. Looking forward to trying for them at OLCI on the VS 73 on Tue.

Good luck Treelo, it would appear the system is allocating seats, for our flight on Sat at exactly 2:05pm today the seat map went from empty (not that we could save any allocations) to full with us automatically put in 76H/K. I'm not that fussed, my only worry was making sure we got in the bubble. Hope you have better luck.

Thanks for the TR Steve, completely agree with your stance on moving seats, I'm thinking they were just trying it on to get the seats they would rather have, albeit with a rubbish excuse.

Thanks for the TR y) y)

Well done for standing your ground - unusual for the Ground Crew to make a request for such a reason :?

Great TR Steve.
Through security in 5 minutes - wow that was lucky. Perhaps that
X-Ray machine has become more efficient, as back in March it was awful and resulted in massive queques.

The cheek of some folk asking for your seats, glad you held out and didn't rise to the sympathy test v(

We were in seat 78 A&C recently and the pair behind moaned when we reclined out seats because they said they felt hemmed in 'coz their seats didn't go back so far - from comments re 79A&C it appears they were also being unreasonable.

Hope you had a great time in Florida and enjoyed that part of the gulf coast :)

Hev, AFAIK, the recline on 79A-C is precisely the same as the other seats in bubble PE - we've never had a problem with it on the 5 or 6 flights we have had using those seats. Methinks the couple in 79A-C were trying it on ii) .

Treelo, You're probably right. They really 'bugged' us in the end as they were the type who when they stood up they leaned on our seat backs so hard I though we'd end up being catapulted up, over and then down into the stair well ii) ii)

We happened on a lull in security I think - not many pax about.

The recline on 79 a and c is standard for the cabin - some people it seems like everything exactly their way!

Yes, we really like the Fort Myers Beach area (after spring break of course!)
