Late report, but here goes! Flew to Chicago for a weeks holiday (excellent destination, absolutely loved it). Arrived nice and early at Heathrow to check in, unfortunately the only two seats left together in economy were in the middle of a 4. Both of us like to get up a walk around the cabin periodically so this was not an optiion. A woman from Virgin was eager to upgrade us to either extra leg room or exit row for £30 or £75 respectively, but I refused to pay any extra. We ended up settling for two seats at the end of a 2, 4 or 5 rows apart. Apart from that check in was quick and efficient and after a browse around the shops we were raring to go!

Boarding was well organised and the plane pushed off on time. Food was served fairly quickly; I had Bangers and Mash which was tasty and there was a fairly regular drinks service. The cabin crew were happy to serve drinks as well from the galley at any point during the flight. The IFE was Odyssey, good selection of films and TV (The old system in the 90s which had Nintendo games on was my favourite). The dinner sering of a sandwich (cannot remember what was in it, but it was foul) was not eaten. Virgin should provide more than one sandwich choice.

The flight arrived around 30 minutes early. Unfortunately, we were at the back of the plane so had to endure a 2 hour wait queueing for immigration at ORD. After this we hopped on a minibus transfer to the James Hotel and enjoyed a fabulous hoilday!

Unfortunately, it was the last (outbound) flight I have taken with VS. It was the best holiday I have ever been on, so that helps it stick in the mind :) I can still remember my first ever VS flight to Orlando from Gatwick in 1996 as a 9 year old in some detail as well. Would that be a record for an old TR?

However, when I fly to Newark and back from Washington DC later this month, I will post a TR as soon as I get back.
