Well the sun has come out but I am on a roll so will complete the return TR!

Again the CDC was early (no text confirmation while in the US though) - we decided to share the car given there were 3 of us going back to JFK. The journey was smooth and we arrived with about 3.5 hours to kill in the new CH...hard life!

Again I had done OLCI as the flight looked busy, and it was. Through security and glad to be away from the T4 building site we ascended the stairs to the new CH. Wow, this is nice! Massage booked immediately and a quick tour given by the staff we camped in the bar for a few drinks. The service was perfect. Did some duty free shopping and returned to the CH for a bite to eat, the massage and a wine. The CH really is great and a massive improvement in terms of location and style y)

Flight was called and a short hop down the stairs and onto G-VROC. Nice welcome (not by name) and settled into 19A with champagne. Pushback and taxi were quick by JFK standards and VROC is in much better shape that VWOW....a good flight coming up then??....all of a sudden it went very dark...

The captain had warned if weather in the area (as did the check-in agent) and it didn't fail to deliver. We were 3rd in line for take off when the captain stated that JFK was now shut and we were battered by a pretty spectacular storm for the next couple of hours. The engines were powered down and unofficially people were allowed to mill about the cabin and listen to their iphones etc. The plane was actually rocking at one point - the captain did say what the cross wind was but I remember it being high but not the number.

One of my party joined me at my suite for the wait saying she was sat next to an "interesting man" (for the wrong reasons) - more on him later. We also had the company of Kim Catrall on the flight too. All of a sudden the engines powered up and we were making our way to the runway - frantic securing of the cabin and the last pax were belted up just in time for the take off roll! We seemed to be taking off right into the storm - maybe we were given the very sharp u-turn we did as soon as we were airborne!

Seatbelt signs on for a while and a great lightening show all around for the first hour then we were ok to get up. The chap next to my companion was a bit of a pest (unwanted attention given etc) so we decided to eat at the bar so she could avoid him. He decided to come sit next to us and maintained his arrogant approach while we ate our dinner. Bit of a pain. I had the chicken (nice) and cheese (very nice) with some port. Said unwelcome passenger then decided he wanted to drink some samples of his own whiskey he had brought with him - CC didn't let him and he didn't like it (which he told the CC) - they handled it with good humour and professionally.

It was then time to sleep. The cabin was hot and I decided to remain in my own shorts. The rest of the A zone was bedded down and I had no offer of help with by suite - not a problem as I could have asked. Managed 3 or so hours sleep and awoke to a bumpy descent to LHR. Bacon roll was good but the coffee was rubbish VS!! Landed about an hour late due to the ground delay in JFK but arrivals was deserted y) Up to Revivals for a quick shower (man it's hot in there!!) and then into the car to Cambridge.

Overall a great night flight, unfortunately with a prat of a passenger - and another confirmation that the JFK CH is just great!

Another great TR y) - shame about the gent following you and your companion about.. v( v( You appear to have handled it well though, I wonder what would have happened if he had managed to get into his whiskey stash :? Well done CC.

Super return TR with the added excitement of watching/feeling the storm ^) It is really unfortunate when there is someone on the flight that does their best to make themselves a pain v(

Thanks for posting the brace of TR's and missing out on that little bit of sunshine oo)

The chap was more embarrassing than anything. He did try his stash and offered me some too. In front of the cc!

Storm was good to see tho I'm not phased by that stuff...some other pax were less than happy!
