This is my first post and first trip report so apologies for not using all the right lingo!

I've only travelled in economy and premium before so was really looking forward to my first trip in Upper.

Upper more than matched my (high) expectations. Tristar picked us up on time and we were at the DTCI within 45 minutes. We were whisked through in no time at all and made our way straight to the lounge. Although I'd read lots of reviews and seen lots of pictures, I was amazed by how large it is. I knew there was never going to be enough time to get round it all, so I settled for a glass of bubbly before having lunch (well, three course lunch obviously). The famous burger went down a treat. We then played pool before heading to the gate when called.

Very nice to skip the queue and board straight away and I was impressed to have a separate entrance to the plane. We were very embarrassingly caught by a crewmember taking a picture as soon as we sat down but all was averted when she offered to take a snap for us - much appreciated once the blushing had gone.

Once we were in the air another crew member came round and greeted us by name (impressive) and took our orders. The food was either good (for a plane) or excellent. Afternoon tea was fantastic although I couldn't manage the cheese trolley.

Naturally as first time Upper PAX on a leisure trip we spent a fair amount of time at the bar - the crew were very attentive and amusing to talk to. I'd read how the bar can be underused and it probably was on this flight too. Apart from us and two other PAX it wasn't really used at all. I think it's a huge plus point to the Upper experience though, especially when you can have such a good laugh with the crew.

Before I knew it we only had a couple of hours left so I quickly jumped into bed, just to experience it really! The bed was comfy and it just felt so strange to by lying in a bed on a plane (a novelty for me at age 29).

In summary we were treated fantastically and the crew were great fun. Nothing was too much trouble. Upper lived up to the hype and I look forward to travelling up at the front again.

Welcome to V Flyer and thanks for posting the TR. Now that you've caught the UC bug you may have to be prepared to feed the addiction.

It's always a good thing when VS lives up to and as in your case even exceed expectations.

Brilliant TR, thanks so much for posting! How was the immigration queue at LAX when you arrived off the 23 out of interest? :)

Cheers
James

Welcome to V Flyer y) y)

Thanks for the TR and sharing with us all your first impressions :D :D I am so glad that you were disappointed with any part of the service - it does of course mean (like many of us here) you will now have difficulty travelling any other way ):

Nice inaugural TR and welcome to V-Flyer. y) y)

Nothing beats the UC experience in full for the first time and as Tinuks says once you have turned left, you never want to go right again.

Good to hear that the service was on top form and that the bar was well utilised :P

Cheers for posting 8D

**Edited to pander to those who do not moonwalk backwards onto the plane :P **

Oh, so sharp you'll cut yourself as my grandma used to say :)

Back on topic, thanks to deej for the TR - the sense of enjoyment shines through.

Vegascrazy - immigration took a while but wasn't terrible. Though we had to wait for some friends from economy so it probably would have been quicker if we'd kept up with the other uppers who got off the plane first. PS we were on Cover Girl, little did I realise it would have been one of her last flights :(

Thanks everyone else for your replies. I certainly have got the bug - Uh oh!
