As usual the private security channel was very efficient and I was quickly through and into a very quiet clubhouse (the spa staff told me I had just missed a very busy period). As always the clubhouse was excellent, after a massage, burger and three Mojitos' I made my way to the gate.
The cabin was strangely missing any cabin crew before take off so no pre-takeoff drinks or newspapers. I asked one of the CC what had happened, he said he didn't know but would check and then came back later to apologise saying something about being short-staffed. They did come round with the pre-takeoff drinks once we were in the air, very strangely minutes before the usual drinks round!
The cutbacks discussed on here were obvious, no amenity kit on this fight but I had come prepared with a toothbrush to hand (all I used to use from the amenity kit anyway).
I had the chicken & broccoli mash for dinner (it seems like I've had that a 100 times now, the menu must be due for a change!), it was good, no complaints there. The CC were excellent during the flight, doing lots of water & juice rounds. I missed the ice cream run as I was asleep but saw that it was the ice cream sticks rather than the old pots that had been give out.
Boston has been switched to a 333, the only real difference in PE is the upgraded IFE, I always use my iPad instead of the IFE but the touch screen flight map is very nice!
Overall a very pleasant relaxing flight made even more comfortable as the seat next to me was empty.
BOS passport control was its usual efficient self and I was through within minutes (I wish JFK would learn from BOS and man enough desks with efficient staff). A queue did build up at the final customs card check but they quickly opened another desk to handle it.
