My first TR on my first VS flight, so be gentle please :D

I would first of all like to thank everyone here for all the excellent friendly advice I have received over the last few months ^)

I was lucky enough to be one of the 1st PE passengers to request my seats, over 48 before the flight, my fingers nearly didn't work, I was so excited lol :o) After much discussion and changing our minds, my partner and I decided to go for 19 A&C on the lower deck - this was only agreed after I informed my better half that the concenus on V-Flyer was that you received a slightly better service on the lower deck and I would do my upmost to get us on the upper deck for the return flight :P

Online check was completed at -24, but only managed SEQ 3&4 v(
As we were staying at the Hilton, we opted to try Twilight check-in, which I must say is an excellent idea y)
In the morning we went staight to the Premium Gate, felt like royalty slipping past the queues and avoiding Duty Free at the other end, althogh the missus forced me to go there anyway :0
We spent the next two hours in the v-Room, which once again I must say is an excellent idea. Oh, you do get a full engligh, not just rolls by the way :) I happily sat by the window watching the flights take off and land and by keeping my eyes on v-flyer, I knew we were due to fly on V-GAL.
The flight was called on time and we were one of the first people onboard. I must say the plane look immaculate. As soon as we sat down we were offered a glass of bubbly, but no newspaper ?|
We quickly decided that the upgrade was worth it, we could hardly tell that we were on such a huge aircraft!
Take-off was about 25 minutes late with 423 passengers onboard.
The IFE system is marvelous, very responsive. My only niggle and it's hardly worth mentioning, is that if you want to fast forward or rewind slightly, it is very difficult to do in small ammounts, hardly earth shattering :o)

Now unfortunately for the part I didn't think was up to scratch
Menus for the upcoming meal were soon handed out, but they should have saved their energy.
About 2 rows in front of us, I could hear the member of staff apologising to a customer about the lack of meal choice, I looked across at my partner and we shared a look of "here we go". By the time the trolley got to us, the only option left was some chicken "thing" that was almost inedible. Now if you knew me, you would know I am like a human dustbin - I eat absulutely anything (I put on 12 lb in 2 weeks on holiday :0 ). The cabin crew apologised and said something to the effect of "I've never known maels to run out in PE before" then proceded to slag off the catering company. My missus looked at me and said "I knew we should of gone upstairs" I wasn't best pleased, but didn't kick off or make a fuss, just thought to my self "you have 2 wonderful weeks to look forward to and it's only 1 meal"

The rest of the flight went by in a flash and we landed on time at Cancun.
All in all a very pleasant flight with only one slight "blip".

Coba is AMAZING. the al la cartes were to die for!!!
Arlequin, Le Gourmet and Don Pablo were out of this world!
Weather was pretty good, did loads of trips including the Virgin Ahoy. swimming with the dolphins, manatees, sea lions and nurse sharks will stay with me forever!!

Don't worry about staying in Coba Rachel, it's really nice. I know the rooms don't have that modern look, but they are large, comfortable (I would email the hotel a couple of weeks before you are due to go and request matress toppers. I can send you the email address if you need it).
We most ate at the Premier lobby and although there wasn't such a huge choice of food, we found it much more peaceful and calming. We spent most evenings there also (more branded drinks ): well there was Baileys and Jack Daniels, so we were happy lol)
