Oh dear! Check-in and boarding were absolutely fine but paying the extra for PE as it was a 10 hour flight was so not worth it. Economy was only half full so most PAX were being allocated at least 2 seats each if not a whole row whereas PE was full. My VERA IFE was set and stuck on the Chinese language - when the cabin crew reset it, it appeared to be working until the screen displayed the cabin announcement message which locked the screen requiring a reset every time and which meant whatever I was watching was wiped. Handing out menu cards is a joke for this seat - they had run out of everything but the vegetarian options by the time I was served. I had to ask for a bread roll for me and the lady in 24H - the cabin staff only acknowledge us after they had finished serving the Economy PAX up in the bubble, had to go downstairs to source the rolls and brought us ones that were still frozen in the middle. Disembarkation is also a joke if you are upstairs - you wont get off until everyone, and I mean everyone, downstairs and Economy PAX upstairs has left the aircraft. There is nothing premium about this service apart from a slightly larger seat. Expected much, much better from Virgin.
