Traffic was a nightmare getting out of nyc took us almost 2 hours to get to jfk! Our driver was really nice tho and was pointing out things of interest so made the journey a bit more enjoyable.
Arrived at PE check in, there was one person in front and the lady from upper check in called us over so we didn't have to wait. Great start! With all 4 very full bags checked in we made our way through security and onto the nearest bar for some wine!
Got over the fact we didn't have a CH to go to pretty quick after one glass! We ordered some nachos and more wine and at about 18:50 walked over to the gate.
Walked straight on and into our seats 17h+k. No bubbles or drink offered, she seemed to miss us even after passing with drinks for other pax. The OH decided to ask her for a drink b4 take off she obliged but didn't look to impressed.
Bubbles in hand I got to grips with my surroundings, the seat was comfy enough it did rock back and forth so I was very aware not to move to much to try and avoid annoying the pax behind. The amenity pack consisted of a pillow a blanket and a itchy, uncomfortable head set. Not sure if this is the norm for a night flight but I would have expected a face mask and a tooth brush.
We took off and vera froze. No drinks service came round so i pressed the call button and it took them 15 mins to come! When the cc did come I asked about Vera and if they were coming with drinks, he said they were rebooting the system and drinks would be served with my meal and walked off. Now, at this point I started to think omg! This is going to be the worst flight ever, and then the cc comes back seconds after leaving and says if you would like a drink I can get one for you. I took up his offer. I'm glad I did because food was longer than I thought it would be.
Food came, we had salmon, beef and cheesecake, nice, much better than some airline slop I've eaten.
After food the service got much much better, the one cc was much more attentive the other cc still had a sour face tho!
Trays removed and i had some port (to help me sleep), I tried to watch a movie but the headsets were that bad I gave up.
I actually fell asleep! Not sure how long for but when I woke up they had served breakfast and the nice cc saw I had woken and asked if I wanted breakfast. I declined but had some OJ. The OH woke up 10 mins later but no one came to ask him for breakfast or drink.
We landed ahead of schedule and with all the jet lag and tiredness me and the OH talked about the flight, he decided it was the worst flight ever and I agreed!
Once we had recovered properly we didn't think it was that bad but for a premium offering it wasn't great.
After going over the flight and writing the TR I am disappointed but hope my flight to miami in June will be better (both legs PE, but I'm trying to convince HWMBO we need to upgrade)
