I just arrived back from a trip to the States, Flying into LAS and back into LHR from JFK (Trip Report to follow)

I arrived at Gatwick around 9ish for an 11:20 depart and was checked in with no wait at all. I was given directions to the Clubhouse and Priority Security Channel and was through with-in minutes.

After a short trip to Dixons I headed to the clubhouse and received a warm welcome and an offer of a show round. I accepted, as it was my first visit to the LGW clubhouse.

I ordered an Eggs Benedict and a Virgin Redhead and both were served quickly and to a high standard. I also had a few cookies, followed by 2 more red heads before the flight was called. All of my orders were correct but I did notice quite a few orders going to wrong tables.

The Aircraft had almost finished boarding when I got to the gate and I took my seat in 9k. This was my first UC trip so I could make no comparison for others seats/suites but the seat itself did its job, so as we pushed back almost on time, with-in a few minutes we were in the air and I was already in the land of nod!

I woke up about an hour into the flight and visited the rest room. I was informed that I’d missed the order being taken and they had run out of the Beef Main course. I opted for the Potted Salmon, followed by the chicken, followed by the Rich Chocolate Marquise with Raspberry Coulis - Sickly But delicious. I ate the lot and Cheese and Biscuits! – Full menu details available if anyone is interested?

I continued to doze during the course of the flight to a few bits and pieces on my ipad and Vera touch. The journey was smooth with little turbulence. A little later into the flight I was offered something from the Graze Menu, So I chose the burger that was nice but I wasn’t overly keen on the potato crisps served with it.

I thought the bar a bit gimmicky and was only used by two ladies for a few hours, who chatted a lot with the cabin crew.

High Tea was served about an hour out which finished the experience of nicely.
In all I really enjoyed every aspect of this sector. I really feel like I received value for money, by buying a ticket in Y and upgrading.

Well gfonk, the bar is a bit gimmicky by most definitions.. It doesn't mean that it does not have a practical use too or can be thoroughly enjoyed :P

Thanks for this TR bricey, and a well done on snagging a G reward on this route - not an easy thing to come by on the LGW fleet to LAS y)

Cheers for posting 8D
