Only real involvement with the ground staff was at the connections desk where we asked if there was a lounge we could use as we had arrived in UC. Much faffing and invite issued - after we had provided our UC boarding passes as evidence. Surely this is visible in the system as we were on one reservation LAX-LHR-MAN?
If I was VS I would not offer Lounge access rather than provide what they do - enough said.
Flight was called on time and we boarded at the priority call. Plane was fine and welcomed at the door with 'OK' on presentation of boarding pass. Plane seemed quite full but then it was 1645 on Friday afternoon.
CC got safety demonstration kit out and proceeded to drop each item from waist height on to the floor in readiness for the demonstration. After each item was picked up and shown to us it was then discarded, thrown, to the floor in the galley like pieces of litter. Rather unprofessional I thought.
Take off was smooth and an flight time of 35m announced. Despite this a drink from the bar was offered and happily accepted along with a small (very small) bag of crisps. Which I had just enough time to drink/eat before the rubbish collection and landing in Manchester.
Maybe I am being harsh here - but I see the CC as representing the airline and this impression is the one that lasts - it was a short flight and I was not expecting much. If the occasion arose again I would elect to take the train - as the long wait, between flights, and overall experience let VS down.
