Arrived at Gatwick Friday and stayed at the new Premier Inn at north terminal. I checked us in online Friday morning and got seq 3&4, not bad as first time trying for seq 1. Bag dropped Friday evening 6pm. Got some snacks for the room and had an early night.
We were up early and after a short trip on the terminal shuttle we were in the south terminal and heading for the Clubhouse. Although flying PE we were able to pay for access to the Clubhouse via Virgin Holidays. I'd never used a Clubhouse before and thought it was a bit expensive, well until I got in there. it was worth every penny. We were informed our flight had a delay of 30 minutes, more time in the clubhouse. Booked our spa treatments then took a couple of seats by the window. Ordered The Virgin Redhead, followed a little while after by another and The British Breakfast.
After some shopping I spotted that Ladybird had arrived from MCO at gate 13 and was being prepped to take us to Vegas.
As gate 13 was close to the clubhouse they didn't call our flight until 30 mins before push back. By the time we got to the gate there was only a handful of passengers still to board.
After a short queue on the air bridge we were upstairs at our seats 24 h & k. My friend gets recline guilt so I was happy to be able to choose the last PE row. The seats were comfortable and plenty had plenty of room. I love the side storage in the bubble, all my hand luggage fitted.
After getting settled we were offered some sparkling wine.
We had to wait a few minutes for the paperwork to be sorted, then the doors were closed and we were off.
The Vera Touch worked very well for me, my friend had to have hers restarted after it froze. It was fine after that. There was plenty of choice and it kept me entertained the entire flight. I found the easiest way to use the system was via the touchscreen handset, the main screen didn't seem as responsive.
The cabin crew were friendly and chatted throughout the flight. We originally asked for a bottle of champagne but it didn't arrive. when we asked about it they apologised and offered to put a bottle of the sparkling wine on ice for us, which wouldn't cost us, great. They kept our glasses topped up throughout the flight.
I can't remember the menu choices but I enjoyed the food, I'm easily pleased. Although I didn't get my first choice.
After landing we got to immigration as quick as possible, but it still took almost an hour to get through.
Once we collected our bags we left the baggage hall to find our limo driver. With a quick stop at the Vegas sign for photos, we were off to The Cosmopolitan for a fun week.
Another great flight with Virgin. If only I could use the Clubhouse every time.
