The little red service today operated in an aer lingus livery as VA stock was being maintained. The airbus added to the rotation to cover was not a pretty plane. Dirty carpet and poor seat. Va service was however pretty good and the flight was packed - a good sign.

I did however learn a valuable lesson - do not bother with the T1 Serviceair Lounge. It's pretty naff. The costa coffee by gate 8 is much nicer and has great views of the runway.

Bad news about the Servisair lounge I have a 3 hr layover to look forward to. Time is too short to dash into town for a proper dinner and I've never been fond of airport food. I wish there was 24/7 Revivals.

How disappointing to read about the condition of the plane. People trying Little Red for the first time , and thinking it is a comparatively new service, may well be put off. Also, it won't encourage them to try other Virgin routes.
Thanks for the tip about the lounge too.

Normal service is resumed.. on EI-DEO today.. all clean and shiny.

Plus, no-one actually uses the T1 Servisair lounge, unless you're absolutely committed to getting that free drink and biscuit. The T1 gate 8 pier has perhaps the best runway views in heathrow, as well as being quiet, spacious... oh, and a Costa coffee.
