Arrived LGW to be met by a great number of school parties (half term) so the Clubhouse was going to be a great benefit.

Check in could not have been smoother.

Breakfast in a very peaceful Clubhouse served by excellent staff, had a quiet half hour while the Mrs visited the spa.

Flight was delayed by 1 hour, there are worst places to be, maybe it was a little early for Champagne but ........

Boarded 30 mins before departure and welcomed by name with a glass of Lanson BL

After take off it became apparent that no UC passengers had audio on the entertainment system. It turned out that all the headsets were faulty ( not sure how that is possible) so crew handed out Ipod type headsets which worked fine.
Found the entertainment a little boring to be honest, I do not fly that much but had seen all that I was interested in on previous flights.

Main meal was Salmon & dill Moose 10/10, Seared fillet of beef 9/10. Afternoon tea was nicely presented although my sandwiches seemed a little stale ( wife and son's were fine).
Selection of wine excellent

Cabin crew were excellent and attentive without being obtrusive although one individual was not so friendly but I think she may have been unwell.

Excellent final approach into Barbados from the left of the aircraft

Altogether an excellent flight with much improved catering. None of the negative experiences that some seem to be reporting.

The only negative was that there were no landing cards available on board, I was later told by another passenger that crew had started handing these out from the rear of the aircraft and had run out by the time they got to PE/UC, this was not confirmed but if true a very basic error not to have enough forms.
This meant that we had to join the melee at immigration rather than flying through at the front of the queue as I had expected.

Return flight is upstairs in Economy, will be interesting to compare the two

Thank you for the TR. Nice to hear the food was of a better standard on this flight. I'm looking forward to spending time in the CH in May.

Thanks for the TR - good to hear a +ve experience. Trying to persuade MrsPJH to step away from Tripadvisor and actually book somewhere in the Caribbean for the summer (aka rainy season).

I,on the other hand, have not been in LHR or LGW outside of school holidays for years... :#

Good trip report, on the landing card issue I had the same problem where they did UC last and ran out. I spoke with the FSM and we were then given the crews cards. Perhaps it would make more sense to start from the front or ensure sufficient cards are stocked and on the check list before departure. Little things like this can spoil a flight if you finish up at the back of the queue filling in your card in the immigration hall.
