Off the booze, we had several green teas, two delicious full English breakfasts and were offered delightful looking cupcakes (we sadly declined) celebrating 30 years of VS
As usual, the welcome and standard of service from the clubhouse staff was exemplary ... it was fairly busy at 9.30am
Our flight boarded and took off on time. The cabin crew were on great form - nothing was too much trouble
From the lunch menu I chose pea & mint soup, a spicy Japanese chicken dish with vegetables and rice followed by sticky toffee pudding (all good)
Afternoon tea consisted of a selection of sandwiches, clotted cream and jam scones and a delicious array of small cakes ... also enjoyed the cheeseboard which had cheddar, Brie, Cropredy stilton and Red Leicester
Apart from the obligatory turbulence (forewarned) over the east of Canada the flight was uneventful. I think that 9K (my seat) was one of the best in the cabin. I didn't use the entertainment system - I always watch Skymap but unfortunately it had not been reset and we were permanently shown as flying north of Glasgow en route to Orlando!
I noticed that one passengers TV was not working so they supplied a DVD player
Landing into Vegas was pretty smooth and we were fifth into immigration control which didn't take long
However, there was a mix up over baggage and we ended uop waiting one and a half hours for our bags to emerge - no priority baggage claim
Now sitting in my suite at Mirage deliberating over lunch before a mammoth 25 day road trip
